Isn't this all part of improving the squad bit by bit? The changes are often gradual, so we don't see radical leaps of form and therefore we assume a blase attitude.
Egan is settling in nicely, alongside JOC and Stearman, with Henderson repaying the faith that Wilder invested in him. I have a quiet confidence that we'll begin to show some of the form that we know we're capable of. Given some of the financial horror stories we hear about, where clubs spend big because they don't have the smarts to spend intelligently, I have no doubt that we're better off building bit by bit until we look capable of competing in the Premiership.
For those of us who blew a fuse recently, while I have some empathy with the frustrations felt, it was far too hasty and far too transparent with an agenda shared by a handful of discontented Blades. Time will tell, maybe this season we'll remain in the Championship, I won't mind too much as long as the signs are there that we're getting better as a team. A big ask? Let's see. But we're here on merit and that alone fills me with enough optimism to hope that the next few months increases our points tally.
