CONFIRMED Marvin Johnson

Johnson's assisted Boro's second tonight! Probaby means nothing but if Boro can't get someone in I wonder if they might stick with Johnson, especially if he plays well tonight.
 
I think Pulis is trying to fuck Wilder off. First he see's Aasambowhatever link and plays him, now Marvin. I think it's his goal this season to stop us signing any of his players.
 
Hopefully he was just being used to give somebody else a rest.

Harry Chapman picked up an injury tonight so hoping that doesn't affect anything. I notice Wilder tonight mentioned maybe two coming in before Saturday, and indicated it wouldn't be a forward so Johnson is one but hadn't thought there might be another?

That Would be odd. Can’t we only have 5 loanees on the squad.

With Norwood, woodburn, the keeper x 2 more - wouldn’t leave us with a striker to bring in.

This must have been pre Norwood maybe?

It was tonight after the game and he just mentioned 1 maybe two hopefully coming in this weekend. You're right though, unless its a free agent, but I doubt that would happen.
 
Wrong thread but I must say Norwood was absolutely class tonight. Very positive passer, got himself about and didn't just choose the easy passing options constantly, attempted lofted passes to the wing backs which were spot on more often than not and controlled our midfield with a more deep-lying playmaker role. Another thing that really pleased me is that you could tell he wanted the ball at his feet, constantly shouting and waving his arms in the air when he was available to pass too. Nice to see he's a player than definitely won't hide for 90 minutes.

Completely agree. On his debut he is giving out instructions to the players and defenders and absolutely running the show. Shows real potential captaincy. Top, top debut.

Do you think that Norwood, Fleck and Coutts can play as the middle 3 all at the same time? - will they compliment each other?

For me, with those 3, Norwood should play in the middle of a flat 3 and cover the defenders with Fleck pushing forward. He was a perfect example of box-to-box last night and seemed to be quite quick with a lot of stamina and energy.
That being said that role could also be taken by Coutts. They seem somewhat similar but also have their differences.

Very exciting prospect!
 
For Saturday, do you think Norwood, Fleck and Duffy would start or would that seem a bit too lightweight? Not seen much of Norwood to notice strength wise.

After last nights displays I’d imagine 3 that finished of Fleck Norwood and Basham.

The question then is if he goes with 4 at back as it finished with Woodburn behind the front 2 also.

If 3 at back then Woodburn and Duffy miss out.

It might be just that they didn't want to risk an injury to one of their first eleven and as the deal isn't done yet he is still their player to use. We'll know soon enough on this one though I would expect, as it has being widely reported a deal was near, so ifs not happened by the weekend then no doubt the deal isn't as close as it was.

I guess he might be used in a variety of roles should he sign, depending on the situation obviously.

Although I must say, imo I thought that was the best game Stevens has had in a Blades shirt for a while

Treeton, literally the worst record of any ITK ever. Can guarantee every Window you’re full of cryptic hints etc that never transpire. Admire the enthusiasm though.

Not saying you are wrong treeton but if so how come he's not in Sheffield yet? Seems to be taking an age to get this one over the line.

Media reports did say that it was expected to be done before the weekend, as opposed to early this week or mid week. Of course I wonder if last night has changed summat.
