Now that Rooney has left these shores he has taken over as the current leading aggregate scorer in the PL and EFL.

He is, from memory 15 goals away from being the highest scorer this century. Rickie Lambert retired with 219 goals I think.

I mean that's quite obviously a load of old bollocks, given the interview a bit further up where he says a) he wants to stay in the Championship and b) can't see himself playing anywhere else.

Also his wages aren't massive compared to what Sunderland have been paying recently. Considering they still have PL money.
