Canuck,
All my arguments on Hendrie stack up with the evidence.
Speaking of evidence, what's your opinion of his performances and attitude in the reserves and friendlies?

Canuck,
All my arguments on Hendrie stack up with the evidence.
Hendrie has more footballing ability than Quinn, Howard and Montgomery put together. Because Blackwell can't deal with the person the easy option is to ship him off to another club - or otherwise lets pay him a fortune per week and not play him yet still moan and groan about our midfield who can neither kick with both feet or pass a ball to the same colour shirt - Its a no brainer Get some balls Blackwell and pick your best team not your mates!

Totally agree mattbianco1, Hendrie is the best midfielder at the club and had his wake-up call while on loan at Blackpool last season when he was asked to wash his own kit! If we're to finish top 2 I can't help but think Hendrie needs to be playing regulary. He can pass, tackle and will weigh in with his share of goals. Imagine how hated we'd be with Morgan, Hendrie and Henderson in the team! Come on Kev, give the man a break.
TB.
Len,
Hendrie could (this is theorhetical mind, as our management team doesn't seem to like him) come into the squad create three goals, score one of his own, and hit the bar with a wonder strike from 35 yards. Your reaction would be to jump on here and moan that he hit the bar from 35 yards, and for the money we're paying him, he should be finishing from that distance weekly.
As for your arguments, they seem to revolve around the fact that, he gets paid a lot money and doesn't get selected. And that in the few cameo appearances he's had he hasn't been amazing, which is kind of hard when you randomly get thrown on 5 minutes from time having not played in months.
That line sums up the weakness of your arguments. Robson, was a TERRIBLE manager, he has NO man-management skills. And it makes my blood boil, that you would insinuate that he does, shows that you've lost your faculties. As he took us on the worst ride, and the biggest one financially, so don't talk about common sense with wages to me.
No Canuck, if there's one thing I don't like it's people misrepresenting what I've said.
My arguments are based solely on the evidence that he's been crap for us and has cost us a lot of money for the privilege.
That, I'm afraid, is indisputable on the evidence.
If he'd done what you said or even threatened to he would be in the team.
I agree entirely about Robson but he did acquire the plank and even he realised he was bobbins.
His very in and out career at Aston Villa - he maybe played in half the number of games on average each season - shows up this myth about his alleged talent. Unless all those Villa managers were similarly misjudging him.
My arguments are based on the reality, yours are based on a fantasy of what you think he's capable of.
Lens usual drivel - Hendrie has the talent and if harnessed can be the driving force in midfield we have all been seeking!
Unfortunately, the evidence says he doesn't have the talent or the attitude required.
Carney is actually obviously a better player but doesn't fit with how we want to play either.
After over 250 appearances for a big club in the Premier League and an England cap, I'd suggest that's pretty good evidence that you're a talented player.
I'll not hold my breath to an answer to my question, it's something i've never, ever got regardless of location

Sorry Foxy, never seen him play in the reserves and wouldn't take the slightest bit of notice anyway.
I have seen him look good against the likes of Morecambe when he seemed to have found a level at which he could look good.
Don't get indignant with me Len. You're a huge pessimist, you go out of your way to root for the bad in everything. So I haven't misrepresented anything. Just like when the Blades win a match at a canter and you blow in saying 'we were thoroughly outplayed and were lucky to edge it'.
Although in a spot of good news, BBC and ESPN are reporting Lee Hendrie eligible for the match tonight so lets hope he gets a decent run out if he's in the squad.
I'm not talking about the level or even quality of performance (though class tends to noticable whatever the level), I'm talking about a complete reverse of the attitude you accuse him of and the level of effort and commitment.
Still, doesn't matter, no point taking notice if it doesn't fit the agenda![]()
I'm glad he's trying in the reserves and I hope it gets him a move somewhere.
And he himself admitted his attitude problem at the end of last season.
Another player who looks good against lower league opposition is Billy Sharp. Enough said.
Len, just because you declare yourself to be right, doesn't make it so. In fact in life I've found, those people who often scream from the rooftops about how right they are, are usually in fact more incorrect than most. I mean for years the Catholic Church charged people with heresy for saying the Earth rotated the Sun, they denounced people, and said that their theory of everything rotating around the Earth was the only correct answer. Many people also used to say the earth was flat.
He admitted a problem and I've seen first hand that he's done his bit the change that.
If Howard doesn't improve over the next few weeks, I'd like to see Hendrie in the team alongside Monty.
Give him a chance and I think he could shine.
It's unbelievable how many people write Hendrie off after 7 starts in 2 years and 10 cameo appearances from the bench, at least 5 of which have been less than 10 minutes.
It's inexplicable for me that in a side with a central midfield as weak as us, he's not been given a real chance with the technical ability he has. He didn't arrive with the right attitude, but he's booked his ideas up and has been committed to the cause here since his loan spell at Blackpool.
I wouldn't have the evil pixie because he isn't.
The attitude problems both on and off the field contribute to Hendrie being an average and vastly overpaid player.
I don't like the fact that we're paying such a player huge amounts of money for playing in the reserves or plying his trade on loan.
He's played 17 times for United, over a third of a season and plenty enough time to establish his ability. He's established he has limited ability and no pace or strength.
I think you suggested he was on the list because he gets paid a lot. I simply pointed out other high earners aren't on the list because they, unlike Hendrie, are worth a place in the team..
Lets get this right
Lee Hendrie has one, yes just one full England cap,
One thing Blackwell not wanting him, i can not see a queue of clubs in for him can you? Carney is in a similar position as Hendrie, but is active in seeking a club..
Monty or Hendrie ?
Never mind though, he's orange and evil.
And lot of wasted talent.
