If Argentina can have stripes on the back... Why can't we?

Have you seen the Argentina shirt up close? Looks like a cheap carrier bag, and it's still too white for most. The adidas stripes on the shoulders look like they're heat transfers too. They're shiny plastic looking.

Ours is better.

When close up on the stripes it looks the same under pattern tbh

We'd still have that Ramsdens transfer though.

Proof that Ramsdens Currency would make any shirt look shite

Still thinking, our new shirt should be the Argies shirt in red n white.

Nah apart from having stripes on the back that's a lot less premium than ours. The adidas stripes are stick on and the stripes have been overprinted on the collar.

It's still got white arms and sides anyway so people would still complain.

I thought the best looking Argentina shirt was Aguero's because he had snipped a notch down from the V of the collar for coolness.

Argentina's stripes are broader than ours so the white sleeves can be visually interpreted as white stripes - still its a poor effort, the squared off top of the central blue stripe makes the collar awkward - there are universal truths in tailoring from which you deviate at your peril .... this is why, forced to upgrade every season they make such a hash of it. I noticed the iron on adidas stripes too - odd aren't they?

Surely that's a Masterb8 kit isn't it??

One Pig explained PL clubs had to have plain backs on their shirt, they were the rules* Presumably the Pork are getting PL ready.......

Speaking of them lot, times must be even tougher financially than they’re letting on...

“Infants shirts up to four years and the ladies version can be purchased on Sunday to mark our family fun event, with prices ranging from £35 to £59.

The limited edition Pro-Fit shirt, as worn by the players during the photo shoot at Hillsborough on Friday, will be available for a one-off price of £99 at the Megastore.”

£99 for a football shirt is staggering.

Fuck me. That is shocking. £99 for that, made by the football shirt equivalent of zazzle under the fake logo of a made up company.

They'll probably have a post on Porktalk thanking Mr Chansiri for giving them such a thorough shafting.

Christ. That's fucking desperate.

6/10 could be better. Don't particularly like the plain back or that 70% of the kit isn't red. Both sponsors are what I'd expect to see on Sheffield FC or Hallam FC shirts. But if they pay the most then fair enough. Its only for a season so no dramas.

Hi all, Brentford fan here visiting your site last week I noticed adidas are providing you with a plain white on your home kit this season. Unfortunately The Bees are also with adidas and they are doing the same to us. Needless to say I and a lot of other Bees fans are angry and upset, it's beyond me while clubs insist on doing things that they know will upset a good proportion of there fanbase.
I would be interested to know if your club has explained the decision to you.
Good luck to you for the following season except of course when you play the Bees.
By the way if anyone is interested in seeing the build of Brentford new stadium go youtube and enter the Brentford fc drone, although perhaps not to much to see at the moment hopefully the steelwork should start going up in the coming week. A new drone footage is available usually every Monday morning. This week being week 7.

I think ADIDAS have stated that, this year, all their partners, with striped kits, will get a solid back. It's a supplier decision, not a club call. Presumably, when contracts are signed between ADIDAS and clubs, to provide kits for x amount of years, ADIDAS have a certain amount of say in design direction.

Christ. That's fucking desperate.

Thing is too, £99 for the pro-fit one, made by some shithouse Australian company for 50p so it'll be as horrible as the £59 one, the England vaporweave one which is actually high quality is £10 cheaper.

Also has anyone noticed that pro-fit without the hyphen is just profit? Haha

Jesus. That's fucking desperate.

:D

The profit edition was a flashbang through the window and now they're too disorientated to realise they're paying £15 more for an adult one than their city rivals who's kit is made by Adidas.

I mean Christ, our adult ones are only 10 quid more than a kids Wendy kit. Don't know whether to refer them to Watchdog or Crimestoppers.

If you're going to charge people 99 quid (or 60 quid for that matter) for a football shirt, it has got to be above that tinpot, non-league standard Elev8 effort.

Thing is the only team charging that with them as far as I can find are Arsenal, the most overpriced football club in the world, and they at least give you a proper shirt for your £100.

Man City's premium kit is £89 and again, is actually premium.

It's unbelievable but hilarious.

I think our new home kit (white with red stripes) looks too 'Brentford'. I gather Brentford's is Red with white stripes. Maybe we could just swap kits!!!! Or maybe Adidas have got our kits mixed up!!!

Brentford official statement:

With Brentford’s 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship season starting five weeks tomorrow and the first pre-season friendly, against Boreham Wood, seven days away, the release of the all new adidas home kit is coming very soon. Bees fans have already got a glimpse of our brown away kit and our tech forest and aero green goalkeeper kit – available to pre-order here – and the first sight of the red and white home kit will follow in the coming days. Fans will see the new kit teased next week with pre-ordering available when it is released a few days afterwards.

But the Club is able to confirm some details of our kit. As usual, it will be Brentford’s traditional red and white stripes with black shorts and black socks. The Bees have played in red and white stripes since 1926, apart from a one-off yellow kit in 1960/61, and our colours is part of what makes us #ForeverBrentford.

There will be one difference to the kit this year, a plain red reverse. Our Technical Partner adidas’ design direction for the upcoming season is to provide a plain reverse shirt treatment for Brentford FC, and all other partner clubs in the UK who have stripes within their identity. In combination with more tailored and bespoke detailing throughout the kit, adidas believe this will allow them to create more standout designs for clubs in the UK. Brentford FC has been in partnership with adidas since the summer of 2013. The current deal expires at the end of the 2018/19 season.

Look out for our new home kit tease next week.
