Kit thread: Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!

Why does everyone keep saying get umbro in as though they'd do a fantastic job. We'd just get an Umbro template instead of an Adidas one, and Adidas at least have more templates to choose from.

Umbro did many a good United shirt back in the day but whether they would now who knows.

PSV's 2018/19 kit looks like this and I'm sure we'd all take this over ours!

I think Under Armour would be a good fit. They also have good quality lifestyle stuff I imagine.

Have you seen the new Saints kit? It's a right mess, looks like they let a five year old stitch it together with the dodgy seams sticking out. The manufacturer logo looks naff in a wider bit of stripe and the red of the stripes is a different shade to the sleeves and top, a bit like when we had the cheap stretchy crap on the back of our shirts with plain red backs. Even Elev-8 are probably laughing at how tinpot and cheap looking this is.

They also wouldn't be a good fit as Under Armour tend to make things about two sizes smaller than everyone else, so everyone who wears medium would need XL.

Someone like Hummel would be good if we changed as hardly anyone else has them, but they aren't cheap and nasty.

Keep looking at it in the hope that it'll grow on me. Nope.

It looks pretty decent from the front, although I'm not keen on the plain white sleeves, I could even cope with the sponsor. The plain white back makes it into an absolutely terrible shirt though. Who on earth thought it'd be a good idea?! Plain red I could understand, but plain white?! o_O

It'd be a decent template for an away shirt, going with the Fenerbahce colour scheme for example would look brilliant, but for a Sheffield United home shirt? No thanks.

Unbelievable isn't it?

And just to prove there's no obligation to have Ramsdens in green, here's Middlesbrough's kit from last season....

There is clearly no obligation for Middlesbrough to have a green logo, but us on the other hand? I don’t know, I haven’t read the contract!

Don't like all their designs just meant you have freedom of design with them. Seems like they do whatever you like really.

Anyway probably moot because seems they're trying to get out of the kit business because their company is half bust.

Yeah that's nice (if you flip the colours around) but we're not PSV so we'd probably get Huddersfield's kit in red not that with the snazzy pinstripes. Also that has an even bigger white box on it than ours so itd be risky haha

If we were tier 1 then I'm sure adidas would be less inclined to force their style sheet on us and they'd maybe give us a nice sublimated pattern design on the plain material like Man U had last season for their away kit, whilever we're not I'd rather be with Adidas than Macron or something.

Even their worst is far from gopping imo.

That's odd because everyone else loves it and can't think of a single bad feature of the new design.

Having not read the last 30 pages, I can only trust what you've said and position myself as an outspoken critic, one of the few who see the inherent evil in a kit that is primarily white, (who the fuck are we, Stoke?) and attempt to derail this thread to save you all from yourselves.

My thoughts entirely, on the money. I won't be buying it.

If you browse the general opinion across various forms of social media the response is largely really negative towards this design.

Let's hope the club listens or this could really struggle to sell.

I always get the home and away shirt every season. I'm lucky that my birthday is just after they're released so it's an easy gift for the wife to be.
This year I'm thinking of getting a short sleeve GK top instead of the home strip. We'll see what the away shirt look like soon I guess!

Am I right in thinking, the last time we had a solid back was when we were premier league???
The Le'coq sportif shirt, it looks similar to this new one, only better!!

2008/9 had a solid back (apologies for the painful memory, it's the only picture I could find that showed the back of the shirt)

Oh, so that's 2 we've had, both solid red backs, well, almost.

Tha's awful! I've seen a few Saints tops and they're all poor of late. United take note! Don't want Under Armour as the next kit manufacture!
