Apparently we're in for someone who's currently at the World Cup, on a loan deal (source - Twirlo, Bladesmad).

The only Chelsea reserve there appears to be Kenneth Omeruo for Nigeria, who I've previously mentioned. Could be him.

On eye watering wages...

David McGoldrick has left Ipswich.

Might not be an obvious one for us now but I predict he'll get into double figures for whoever signs him. Very capable player when in the right team and confident. Far from past it.

Depends on the budget we have available. I’d much rather take Waghorn if finances permit.

Another squad edit then thanks to Brooks. One extra signing now needed probably.

So is this better or worse without Brooks?

Palmer is off to Newcastle mate :) , and not sure on Mousset being a starter here. Rumours Maddison wanting mega money for like £4-6million!

My issue is we should be spending £15million this season. CW had some budget before to player with, and now £12million in. I do like the look of that team but I could see more perm transfers.

Another name for the list with the Brooks money: Tom Bayliss at Coventry (might already be on here). Creative midfielder but with a defensive midfielder's build. Arguably a bigger prospect than Maddison and while Coventry got a windfall from Maddison's move they're still short of funds so £2-3m plus add-ons would probably seal the deal, particularly as he only has 12 months left on his contract.

I've always thought Palmer will move to the Championship and am still hopeful it'll be us. I wish fucking Lampard hadn't got the Derby job though because it could easily result in him and Dasilva going there.

I've read indications that Peterborough won't be able to get a huge fee for Maddison. I don't think they can realistically expect anything over £3.5m, and he might even have a release clause in that new contract he signed.

Ideally we'd make more permanent signings, but it's difficult. Who do we sign exactly? And loans are often the best options.
One factor is that we won't ultimately be fishing in a different pond - if we go any higher than £3-4m we'd have to pay in excess of 20k p/w wages, which we aren't prepared to.

He's a really good option as a direct replacement, in terms of ability/style and being a potentially huge asset.

Agree with the points you make especially about the big signings demanding big wages. Maddison May be going for 3 million etc but I could see a lot in for him at that figure.

For me I’d look to with Egan / Robinson /Gallagher / Hogan.

Gives us height / pace and cover for all positions. I would love someone like Maddison too. Maybe all would be in budget not sure?

I’d love us to splurge on Canos at Brentford. But I can’t see it happening. I’m sure I saw an article linking us to Bayliss a month ago. Wouldn’t be surprised if we put an offer in.

Maddison apparently has a release clause of £2.5m. Who'd have thought it! http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/06/2...esponds-as-some-sheffield-united-fans-call-f/

I'm not totally convinced about Maddison but in terms of permanent Brooks replacements, he's the most obvious one.

I'm not sure how we could get Hogan. And I wouldn't want to spend a big fee on him with that knee injury behind him, as well as the recent poor form.

Not keen on Jack Marriott either btw for the fee he'd cost. We missed that boat.

Transfer fee is not the problem,Wilder has a wage structure and will not bust it.It is gradually being inflated as the club progresses so players have to fit within it.
A sensible way forward not going over the top.

If we can get someone like Maddison or Freeman for £3m, Jack Marriott for £6m and Gallagher for £3-4m then I’d say we’ve done great business!

Josh Windass has a release clause in his contract of £3million. Is he somebody we could see Wilder being interested in now Brooksy is off?

You think so AM? Also, what are you going to pay these signings having depleted the budget with their transfer fees - magic beans? I'd guess you'd be looking at around £50k/week for their combined salaries

Do you not think another CB (possibly 2) and LWB are also required?

I think there's as much chance of you and I receiving a contract offer than CW paying £6m for Marriott.

That all said, I do share your philosophy that as he did following the sale of Adams, CW using the proceed's of Brooks' sale to strengthen the squad in several areas will benefit the team overall

Looks like Millwall have gazumped Norwich at the last minute with Ben Marshall, £1.2m.

£1.2m for him is ridiculously good value. Annoying. And we've seen what sort of impact he has for Millwall. Massive signing for them, expect them to be a pain in the arse again next season.

So now Robinson's fucked off to sudden moneybags Forest hopefully we'll step up our efforts to get Jay Dasilva.

Not many of our LWB targets will be as versatile as Robinson, so the question is do we now sign 2 CBs and a LWB, or just 1 of each?

It would be better if we could avoid making an extra signing so I'd just go with 1 of each, then if the LWB can play CB it's a bonus, and we can keep Wright/Lafferty anyway.

I'd say these are our best options for LWB now:

Jay Dasilva
Antonee Robinson
Jake Bidwell
Matt Targett
Sam McQueen

I'd love to see him at BDTBL, although I think that he'll end up at Cardiff, or someone like that. 24yrs old, and he's at that kind of 'will he push on & become very good, or will he flatter to deceive' point in his career.

How do you know Wilder even wants to sign a left wingback?

*uess when you say ‘we’ you mean us on this thread

Interest in Robinson, links with Jay Dasilva. Dazzler Accounto said something about an enquiry for Marvin Johnson too. And it's just logical that we should look to improve in that position.

Why he's fucking awful

We have 2 in that position. If Lafferty was made available I would say we are in the market for a LWB.

All interviews indicate to Central defenders and Strikers.

The ones who've been listed are all surplus. Lafferty isn't yet surplus.

I think Holmes will be available but he's not been listed as he's not yet surplus, and he only signed 6 months ago.

Evans will also be allowed to leave on loan when we sign our new strikers.

LWB is less of a priority position and we might focus on other areas first, so listing Lafferty could yet be premature. If we sign a LWB I assume he'll then be allowed to leave.
