Possible Summer Targets

"We need different players," Wilder said. "We've got a box player in Bill and an all-rounder in Leon. So we need people who can provide different things around them. The top area of the pitch is an area we are looking at, yes."

I'd take from that above quote that Wilder is looking for an out an out target man such as Gallagher and another with pace but no idea who that will be - probably a loan player from the Prem.

That’ll be it.. getting ahead of myself, not long now though eh? :)

This has got keiffer moore written all over it this transfer window..

He fits that bill nicely...

I wouldn't mind Kieffer Moore, and Adam Armstrong, both would be realistic and affordable. One's a tall target man type, a proper aerial threat who also can move about well (Moore). The other a smaller, quick forward who can make runs in behind and is only 21 so can still improve (Armstrong). Wouldn't mind them, both players I think Wilder could get the very best out of.

We lack pace now more than ever.
Yes we need a target man but other than maybe Baldock(who might not start as much this season) where is the pace going forward?

Disappointed were not getting anyone in for Stocksbridge game. No one new to watch!

Not sure coutts will be given game time yet. As for Henderson., well he's just a keeper

How typical is it, that the first time United have significant funds to spend (and a manager capable of spending them wisely), they're effectively useless and we're hardly in a better position than we'd be without them.

It's the most United thing ever.

I'm obviously referring to the wages problem. Our wage limitations are disproportionate to the budget. It's alright having 10 or 15 million to spend but if you won't pay players more than 12k p/w then you're not going to be able to do much meaningful with it are you?

So who's fancying Charlie Wyke and David McGoldrick to fire us to the Premier League?

Marriot and Maddison, surely they've been considered as possible targets.

I'm starting to think we should consider paying the large fee for Marriott, because we should at least be able to afford his wages. Unlike every other fucker's.

Maddison is an obvious signing for us now Brooks has gone but we don't seem interested, which is a bit surprising.

I think Gwion Edwards could be the Peterborough player we're most likely to sign. Pacy right footed winger who can also play at wing back on both sides. He's in the shadow of Marriott and Maddison but he's highly rated down there. We've been linked before too I think. And he'd be cheaper, which we always like. Year left on his contract apparently.

Agree we are wasting our time with the likes of Hughill, Hogan and possibly even Gallagher because of high wage demands. Marriot, Maddison, Lindsay and Eisa are more in our wages ball park. Don't understand why we are not going for these.

Apparently Cheltenham have received a bid from an unnamed Championship club for Eisa. I'd be quite happy with him and Marriott coming in.

Additionally just like a purchase from League 1 they really aren't proven to be anything better than average at Championship level and whilst playing in good teams (Gallagher excepted).

Who says we aren't??

We could always pay more for our tickets?

We've made an enquiry to Liverpool for Ben Woodburn on loan according to Liverpool Echo paper.

Would be a coup to get woodburn - there will be a long line of clubs after him I reckon.

Wonder how they would react to wilder not wanting a clause where we have to play him (or get financially penalised) like the lad that was on loan at Cardiff
