Might not actually happen ..but heard Rotherham have been sounding us and sharp out for a possible move ..

TBH ..it would be a good move for both clubs ..free some wages up for us ..and give Rotherham some experience ..

A good move?

If Sharp goes our contracted strikers who aren't on the list are:

1. Leon Clarke
2. Ched Evans.

good move my arse.

When I saw the title I thought, 'MLS again? Good deal all round if we get a decent fee and have a replacement.'
But Rotherham? WTF?

It never ceases to amaze me how ready and willing some people are to let go a man that has scored over 60 goals in three seasons.

To be fair it does fit the club’s historic model of transfer business

At some point Sharp will leave, he can’t stay forever. We need to replace our players with better ones to improve, this might be what a Wilder is doing. Would you not like to see that?

We have a back up striker who scored 12+ last season and scored vital goals as well as offering veteran leadership.

But you're right lets spend precious funds from our limited transfer budget trying to replace him.

I'd much rather Wilder spent money on defenders, defenders and if there is any money left - more defenders. Our inability to keep clean sheets was our glaring weakness last season not our reserve striker.

Sharps goals per minutes played is still top 10 in the championship.
Will cost a lot of dosh to find an adequate replacement capable of just matching his contribution. Plus the verve he brings to the squad

Yes, I would like everyone of our players to be replaced by a better one, that would be nice.
However, let's talk about them going WHEN we get the replacement bought. To get rid prior to the event would be foolish in my view and is a tried and trusted way to the lower leagues (circa 76/78 and 07/10). Having invented the path to decline and successfully followed the blueprint a second time, surely a third go would be intolerable for most who've lived through it twice before.

At what point did I say we should sell Sharp first?

I don’t think you’ve read my post properly. I haven’t said we should spend our ‘precious funds’ on anything. I’ve said that if Sharp is going it might be because Wilder believes he can replace him with someone better. If Wilder decides that’s where he wants to spend his budget then that’s up to him.

We've got 3 strikers (Clarke, Sharp & Brooks) so I wouldn't be surprised to see us bring in a 4th. It would, however, astound me if we were to let Sharp go.

Get your point about trusting Wilder but after bringing in Holmes, Wilson and Leonard in January - he can't really afford too many errors this Summer.

I wil give you Wilson but Leonard is fine and its too early to give up on Holmes.

In an ideal world - you're right.

Tufty saw them every day in training and it looked to me that Holmes & Leonard were further from the first XI at the end of the season than when they first arrived!

It's a good job Tyler no longer frequents these parts, otherwise there would be some cussing and general bad language on this thread, don't you agree Bashar Al Asaba?

You may very well think that, I couldn't possibly comment....

But yeah, Our Billy's haters generally are a set of mouth-breathing fucktard cunts in all fairness.

A fully fit Billy is a match for anyone and will score goals just cant expect to play him twice a week every week
