Had to laugh at the “objection” that was submitted by what is clearly a barely disguised pig.
Plans look good. Just need to get the ownership thing sorted and someone to crack on at some point.

Comment:The noise and disruption this will cause to local residents for a long period will be
unacceptable, just to make the club a few quid. Our houses will be overlooked, and dwarfed by
more faceless characterless flats, reducing our quality of life well after the building work has
finished.
The club sneakily reapplied to have the 4th storey on the flats recently, after the permission was
reduced to 3 a few years ago, I hope that the council will respect locals wishes that if we're
unlucky and it does go ahead that it's still to be no more than 3, I don't hold out much hope of that
after watching the chaos of the road resurfacing program and the tree felling despite the fact that
hardly anyone thinks it's a good idea.
And SUFC, Take a hint from Southampton FC, relocate somewhere outside the city and you can
do what you want.

Can see your point but purely from a supporters point of view it should be the kop everyday of the week. Piss poor facilities, poor legroom, obscured view and slow to exit. It may be newer than the south stand but had zero thought put into it and was without doubt “done on the cheap”.This should be the stand that get developed next (if any).Give away teams the full Lane end and sell the more expensive seats, that often sell out, to Blades match goers.Would also allow for more corporate facilities for football and non football events. I imagine we need a period of consistent premier league football, and a takeover for it to happen though.
Probably not but he does live right on the corner of Cherry Street/Shoreham Street so he'll get a fair bit of noise and disruption. He also seems to be more concerned about the flats tbf and if I was in his position, I think I would be as well.
By the way, just because he has obviously moved there after the Blades moved in doesn't mean he is banned from raising objections when SUFC put up a planning application.

With the land at the back and the hill dug away it has huge potential

This is the bit people don't understand. Southampton, Middlesborough, Leicester and Coventry all had shitty little grounds which they struggled to fill then hey presto, new grounds and the fans flocked in. The SS and Westfield corner are usually full, JS out of bounds, you get hassle getting in and out of BLUT plus aggravation from SYP outside. Oh and the kop is a dump. That doesn't leave very much on top of what we have now does it?
People have choices how they spend their money these days and don't mind paying good money for premium facilities at sporting events. No wonder we are where we are with some of the backward attitudes amongst our fanbase.
