We're off to the U23s game away at Crewe's Academy. Kicks off at 2pm (Thursday).
Don't fret. I've checked with Pinchy. As there is no First Team game today he's happy for us to attend.

I'll cut n paste what I can onto this thread.
Laters ....

Lovely warm day as well Ball_Sup, so I am expecting some excellent, refreshing beer notes!

Dedication to the cause from Ball_Sup, but what a way to spend your days, drinking beer and watching the Blades.

Though i must admit i'd prefer to do it on a day like this, not sure Crewe on a Thursday in January would be as appealing.

Right. I'll do it differently today. Rather than waiting until after I get to, or don't get to, the second leg of the Double Header (SUFC U19 Futures at Worksop Town tonight). And, without ANY ALE (Grappler), I've done an interim Blog just on that U23 game.
Positives for/from Tyler Smith, Regan Slater, trialist Ollie Crankshaw & Keenan Ferguson.
And a clear winner for most polite player of the season.
Enjoy ....

Is there a league table you could maybe link to Phil. I'm sure I could find one but equally sure you could save me the bother......

We seem to be doing well from your reports.

Professional Development u23 in the search bar and choose soccerway.co.uk

Hope you find it.

Ball_Sup (Phil) tough task to catch Wednesday but Bolton's last game is against Ipswich who are currently third in the South section. We've got Charlton who are second in the Southern section away and Birmingham who are ninth in ours: win at Charlton and it becomes very interesting.

FWIW Wednesday have Burnley and Colchester (9th of 10 in the Soith) to play so I'd expect them to finish top.

Yeah. Sorry. I hadn't realised Bolton had just one game left & we've got a better GD.

Considering the heat and our high aggressive style of play I thought we really saw out the game very well in the second period. This young group marshalled by the senior ? players Slater, Smith, Gilmour and Semple managed the play much better than in the past in fact this group is blending into a fine team and will give anyone a game. The back 4 with Cantrill, Ferguson and Doherty being marshalled by Semple are doing a fine job . I thought we would miss Graham but this line just improves all the time. Ti Smith was at his best today and he must be a nightmare to play against. Its a credit to the players and staff that we have regrouped after loosing Hallam. t shows this group are more about the team than individuals. Two fine goals today and a trialist who will be worth seeing again. Hope we can make the play offs as well as the cup game at Swansea that seems to be causing a problem to arrange.

Very impressive performance. Played some great football in the first half, and felt they stepped back slightly in the second half. Regen stand out player for me personally. Great captain, worked the ball well, and got everything from the team.
Heard a few Crew fans jokingly noting they were better with 10 men, and should have gone down to 9 with any hope to win; along with a few remarks about Blades frustration despite being 2-0 up already.
Only real negative from the game was the very poor officiating. Some abysmal decisions from the referee - for both sides. Would be interested to see the red card incident and the decision, as the way the referee was going, it probably was over nothing, or only a yellow at the most.

I am told it was for a stamp but we all had restricted viewing and a strong sun in our eyes.

Right. Logistical issues meant I didn't make Game 84 at Worksop Town. So, for you Grappler the amended Blog has some bile filled musings on Beer Gardens & a 6.6% New England style IPA.

Cheers pal!

To be honest, I have never had a bad pint of anything from Brew York, they (along with Tiny Rebel, Totally Brewed, Pentrich, Tollgate, a good few others to mention) are (to me at least) usually a sign of quality, I see their name and just order whatever it is.
