What's your theory then?
everywhere you put kev.. insert prince. and everywhere you put prince .. insert kev.. try that ;)
whoever is trying to get the takeover needs to get it done 'now' because if we did get promoted we would be massively undervalued.

Could this not be the same thing as the Prince invoking the buyout clause, but with new investors rather than his own money, and Kevin is dealing with them to sort out the agreement by which he sells his bit to them?

To be fair, that is the simplest version

There must be some planning involved here with the musical chairs in the boardroom. If the owner's are not together on this why coopt Van Wrinkle to the board.
There are things happening but it looks like, positive things. As I have said before Mccabe will not sell us down the river.
Wilder seems to know .but obviously has to stay stum

Not sure I follow?

The investment wasn’t there in January (or now) and we needed players.

If the report is true then we will have a clutch of players in midfield surplus to requirements. I can't imagine United busting a gut to sign these players only to offload them 6 months later. Coutts should be back together with Brooks, plus the imaginary new signings, which will leave the three new boys plus Lundstram vying for places in a very good U23 team.

why do we need to offload them?? i reckon there is a long term plan in place

I still disagree.

From Wilder’s perspective, why would he risk not signing players that we needed to push towards promotion on the chance of investment being available in the summer? Imagine if we were to miss out on promotion as a result of having no centre midfield? We still may do with the players onboard.

Wilder has said before that he always wants to take the club forward and is not sentimental towards players, so I don’t think he would care (in the nicest way possible) if Lundstram has to be sold in the summer so we can take it up another notch.

Def Leppard finally stumping up.

You cruel, cruel man, you....

When board rooms go to war the manager tends to get fed up and look to move elsewhere.

This needs sorting quickly and relatively un messily
My guess is if Kevin wins he stays but there could well be issues if a Prince consortium wins.

Has the Prince got his own backers lined up yet? Does he secretly want to take the money but will push Kevin’s consortium to put up the price?

If indeed this is what is happening!

Lets say in an ideal world we would have Coutts, Fleck & Duffy/Brooks as the midfield three. This leaves Lundstram, Evans, Holmes, Leonard, Carruthers on the sidelines. If we are promised investment, then expect another two of higher quality to come in. That leaves about 7 or 8 mids on the sidelines, more than we would ever need. The 3 new signings would never have come in if there was a big plan in place. The club would be competing with my missus for hoarder of the year title.

kin ell mate.. that's speculation of the highest order.. i hope we end up with that kind of problem! :)

Considering how McCabe has struggled to find a buyer over the years, brought Princey in with a view to increasing his investment and taking control of the club, I’m not sure there is an ‘alternative’ waiting in the wings...happy to be proved wrong mind!

Over to you Kev. :)
Now we are back in the Championship, doing well with an excellent manager, I think we are now actually a good choice for Investment.

It could well be big money with the obvious goal of the Premier League.

Might be controversial, but i kinda like us the way we are, going about our business the blades way. I really don't want us to turn into that lot from S6, chucking money about and losing our identity. It would have to happen in a "Tufty way", for me to be onboard with it.

Having read the statement again carefully SU limited invoked the clause which is Kevin’s company. It would have been the Prince’s company if he had started the process. I’m guessing the Prince has called Kevin’s bluff by “agreeing” to pay.

If he hasn’t got other backers lined up, he’ll find it difficult and will immediately be underwriting our losses in total.

It’s as clear as mud but potentially a very messy divorce.

You're assuming Wilder knew about the deal in January.

No danger of anything like that while Wilder's here. It's when he leaves we might have this problem. It's why we've got to make sure that everything we've established under Wilder remains deeply ingrained in the club. Easier said than done though.

The timing is interesting as we’re still in with a shout of being a Prem team next season!

So whoever is coming in could have that on their plate..and at worst they’ll have a good Champ team with a great management team and a pre-season to improve the squad.

Good times...hopefully! :D

Think Liverpool.

No... really... think Liverpool. They've had millions invested, but are still the melodramatic, whinging, bottling scousers they always were. Identity firmly in place.

Nowt to worry about.
