that's what I said the UK = Government.

Do you not think there will be any consultation with the footballing authorities given the immense money involved in EPL football and our international reputation involved? Would you be happy with Boris and Gove deciding on who qualifies ? :)
If the UKIP wing of the Tory party wins out, there will be an overall quota for work permits, presumably set low. So Premier League clubs attempting to bring in footballers might be competing with hospitals, care homes, fruit and veg growers, etc., for imported labour; will we allow in footballers or doctors? Clubs below the PL wouldn't get a look-in.

What is Liverpool investment?

Liverpool’s net spend whilst we have had the Prince is averaging 20m per season. Considering the tv rights, Europe etc that so probably very relative to ourselves in that time frame.

I am unaware of liverpool making losses in that timeframe like our owners have had to make up.

Hope that helps ;)

HRH will be gone this summer I would guess.

Will we get someone else or will the McCabe’s take full charge?

The latter would be less risky but will probably put an end to any ambitions of being anything more than mid table Championship club looking to avoid relegation (think Ipswich)

New owner / co-owner is the risky option we could get Wolves results or we could get Wednesday results, or Blackburn, or Portsmouth.

The more pressing fear is uncertainty could mean Wikder being tempted by a club coming down with parachute money

"Care homes, fruit and veg growers, etc., for imported labour;"

Explains Hammond Sammon and Hendrie.

At last. Someone else has actually read the article.

Given the continuing rumours about unhappiness in the Boardroom and Jan Van Winckel now appointed to another board, it strikes me it's far more likely that the Prince will be doing one than setting up a feeder club for us. If there was going to be a connection the share would have surely been bought in our name.

Maybe it really is just two different philosophies on how to take us forward and that is why Kev Mac is irked?

Prince Abdullah: I've been thinking, we really, really need to get that international scouting up to scratch, how about doing it via a Belgian club?

Kevin McCabe: Well, I'm not sure, I think we just buy more players in the JTW

Prince Abdullah: JTW?

Kevin McCabe: January Transfer Window, Grappler is just being a lazy typist

Prince Abdullah: Ah I see, well that is one way, but if we get access to a Belgian club, we can use it fast track certain players in to the UK

Kevin McCabe: Who says you can do that?

Prince Abdullah: It was on S2 4SU, I read it there

Kevin McCabe: Suppose it was written by a pig fan, on the wind up?

Prince Abdullah: Do you think so?, no, it must be true, they even mentioned Lukaku could come and play for us

Kevin McCabe: Are you sure about that?

Prince Abdullah: It was something like that, anyway, what about this Belgian gig, sounds like a goer to me

Kevin McCabe: I'm not so sure Abby, we never said "think Beerschot", did we?

Prince Abdullah: Who said you could call me "Abby"?

Kevin McCabe: Well, er......

Anyway, you get the gist of it...............

More likely. The rather obvious point is that HRH hasn't championed the move in our local press. Or even the Star.......

(What do you think Biggsy, we know you're reading this?)

Wilder will walk because he won't drink that blonde shite, only Peroneh!

Their fans are rats.

That's not an insult. It's what they call themselves ('ratten').

Check 'em out ...

ARE WE FINALLY MERGING WITH THE THE SCHWEIN ?!?!?

I sympathise with the point you are making but we're talking about a handful of players (say 500?), millionaires in the PL and earning less but a fortune in the Championship. Most won't stay after they've finished playing. They'll be waved through given it's billions of pounds in exports.

All depends Seany boy, some of those obscure Belgian beers, that never get exported, are lovleh, when that Volcanic ash cloud caused all sorts of cancelled flights and stuff, a few years ago, I spend time criss crossing europe by train, to get home, had a night in Brussels and some Icelandic lads I know (who had been to the city a few months before), texted me and sent recommendations for a steak house and some bars, both excellent.

Same happened in the Netherlands, had a beer in a bar, got chatting to the bar man, I asked about local beers, he said, "have you tried Hoegaarden?", I said yes, he said "well if you like that, try this", and gave me an awesome beer that I have never seen since.

Anyway, back to the drama and intrigue in the boardroom.......

He bid for the club at the end of October, van Winckel joined our board on 20 December, so that doesn’t make sense. Why would they appoint van Winckel to SUFC after bidding for the Belgian club if he was off.

Well at the moment it seems there are two trains of thought from us uninformed forum users:
  • The investment IS related to SUFC and KM is annoyed because it didn't go towards something with more immediate gains, like spend during the JTW
  • The investment ISN'T related to SUFC, and KM is (probably rightly) annoyed that spend is going elsewhere and not towards SUFC when the Prince has still failed to deliver on his promise of pumping money into the club
Who knows. Either way, Wilder's mate said it'd be 'all change' this week. Sounds a bit exaggerated now if this is all it is.
All Wilders mate said was “all change this week, not sure if it’s for the better”

He hasn’t exaggerated at all and he’s spot on all things considered. The Blades aren’t mentioned at all hence him saying not sure if it’s for the better. I can’t see what all the fuss is with people slating what Wit said, he hasn’t bullshited and nor has he spoke any untruths.

I love Duffy but Dembele is God like. IF we were to go up I would look to sign him from spurs. Seems under used and IMO one of the best box to box midfielders in the league. With his age they may let him go for £10m

Of all the unrealistic transfer suggestions, this is the most comical yet.

Has any sort of link-up between SUFC & KFCO Wilrijk been mentioned? Any benefits for us (apart from getting van Winckel out of CW's way for a bit)?
I think it's stretching things to claim credit for discovering Alderwiereld, Dembele, et al. KFCO only took over the Beerschot name in 2013 when they went bust.

Not exactly “all change” though is it?

We are all in the dark on this, as the government hasn't yet agreed what it wants to achieve with Brexit. If the Tory right gets its way, they will be under pressure to reduce immigration, which will include reduction of overall numbers, keeping essential workers, and avoiding obvious 'own goals', which could include a hospital being unable to appoint surgeons when the local PL team signs limitless expensive footballers. I'm not sure how the exports work - a few top players presumably bring in TV money, but do run-of-the-mill players, and overseas players in the EFL pay their way?

This is no different nor anymore radical than most other countries outside the EU do.

Open borders are not a universal thing.

I thought people wanted more home grown players anyway so wouldn't it help young English lads getting a chance?

The Prince’s involvement with us has to have been one of the strangest business decisions of all time, what he has got out of it I don’t know, he appears to have put a few million in, got nothing back, and not raised his own profile above a few thousand football fans in South Yorkshire.

We did relatively well out of it in that we were, on occasion, the biggest spending club in third tier for a while and eventually got a good manger and promotion back to tier 2.
