They already have players from all over the world. Belgium is the cheapest place in Europe to "collect" players and get them qualified to move to the UK.
It's not just Belgian born players.
As far as commitment is concerned, we can have a good look at them as they develop. This would meet Chris's criterion of knowing their characters before they join.
Jim Giddings?
Yes, as per the interview he gave James Shield at the end of October.
"We need to introduce international scouting for players. It is a must in the Premier League and a good thing in the Championship. English players are expensive. You can choose from a bigger pool."
He is right, we do need an international scouting network. Obviously, we need to get this right but we could have a very useful route to EU and non EU players now.
It might've been t'other one, Andy Phipps.
Yes, at the end of October it was reported in Belgium he was interested, around the time he gave his interview to James Shield.this was mooted ages ago https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.p...for-stake-in-beligan-club.59414/#post-1499867
Given we're leaving the EU, that would be a classic United manoeuvre.

Money has now changed hands. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, statement appears on our website.
Other than its appears to be the Princes baby, you're spot on as usual.
Cannot leave Duffy out, otherwise not bad, move fleck to the left, put Dembele on the bench and Duffy in the centre, sortedI would take a team of
--------------------Moore------------------------
--Alderweireld Vermaelen Vertonghen--
Baldock-----------------------------Stevens-
--------Naingollan Fleck Dembele--------
----------------Brooks-----Clarke------------
Everyone loves a Belgian![]()
Also their logo reminds me of Cresta pop from my youth. I miss the strawberry flavour.

After Brexit, the UK will set its own rules on skilled immigration and quotas. Visas may be involved but with the EPL about to have the biggest injection of funds ever, there is no way the footballing authorities will restrict its access to footballing markets. Beerschot already have many players from outside the EU. They will be brought nearer to us to review. It isn't just access to European players.Given we're leaving the EU, that would be a classic United manoeuvre.
No mention at all of whether this means a partnership between Beerschot and SUFC. Or is it normal in these kind of situations that a partnership between the clubs always goes unsaid?
Either way, if there is to be some kind of partnership, it's weird that none of the Sheffield rags have picked up on it yet.
Yes, if it is a piece of the jigsaw relating to our International Scouting network which the Prince, Kevin and Chris Wilder have all spoken about in the last few months. Is it SUFC related?

I was marginally in favour of staying in the EU but surprisingly enough the world won't collapse when we leave.
I didn't say it wasn't, merely responding to the notion that a conduit to the EU wouldn't be worth much in future.
I did point out about a month ago that it wasn't McCabe that was the issue this time and indicated there was trouble at boardroom level.
We managed to alight upon a Saudi prince unable to put a great deal of money in and his time here has delivered very little other than raised expectations for, as it turns out, little to no apparent reason.

We also have a Board director, Jan van Winkel, working there as well.
Don't you think they are linked?

Their fans are rats.
That's not an insult. It's what they call themselves ('ratten').
Check 'em out...

The Spar has no mention yet of our new emergency loan goalkeeper, when they eventually do I suspect they will say we have him on loan from some unknown Belgian club..
I love Duffy but Dembele is God like. IF we were to go up I would look to sign him from spurs. Seems under used and IMO one of the best box to box midfielders in the league. With his age they may let him go for £10mCannot leave Duffy out, otherwise not bad, move fleck to the left, put Dembele on the bench and Duffy in the centre, sorted
Interesting. I know it isn't a purchase by Blades Leisure / SUFC, it is solely the Prince but I can't see why he would do that unless it benefits United.Personally no. Maybe this is what has irked McCabe. Maybe not. A poster on here PM's me with info which the one person I have received Genuine info off - no more than five or six times over the years - confirmed. Given McCabes time in Belgium and no mention of him, I doubt it's related to United.
Re Rip Van, I can't see him staying long unless HRH buys the Prince out. Too many feathers ruffled already.

That is an alternative approach. Leicester City with all their money have gone down the same route of acquiring a Belgian club as I believe there are some financial advantages.Maybe so. But we wouldn't need to have an interest in another club in Belgium to bring in players when free movement isn't an issue any more.
Just good scouting outside the UK.
