What was all that about being happy to see out his career at BL?It's flooding in from various sources.
Just heard the same from a source up here.I'm hearing from a mate in Reading that Lita is in as soon as this is confirmed with Stoke
Just heard we're considering a bid of £2.5m from Stoke to get him off the wage bill but Beattie would want £500k pay-off.

Not too disappointed if this does get confirmed - I've always had a problem with "untouchable" players who never get subbed or dropped. I would however be disappointed with the club's relationship with the press and fans regarding "instilling confidence" by telling us he's going nowhere.

Premier League side Stoke City have agreed a fee believed to be around £2.5m for Sheffield United striker James Beattie, BBC Radio Stoke reports.
It is understood that Beattie visited the Britannia Stadium on Friday to discuss terms over a possible move.
The former England international, 30, who joined the Blades for £4m from Everton in 2007, has scored 12 goals in the Championship this season.
Stoke completed the signing of Matthew Etherington from West Ham on Thursday.
Beattie began his career with Blackburn Rovers, before leaving to join Southampton in 1998.
The 2003/04 season saw Beattie score 17 goals for the Saints which led him to move to Goodison Park in January 2005.
Beattie has also won five caps for England, making his debut in the 3-1 defeat to Australia in February 2003.
