We all need to calm down a bit regarding Wilder. Up until last season his managerial career has been underwhelming and has consisted mostly of non-league and league 2 football. OK, he got us out of league 1 but given our budget, facilities and resources that should have been a given years ago.
Now, before you all succumb to rage and launch yourselves at the keyboard, what Wilder's actually done is fulfil United's potential and raised his stock a notch by getting out of this fucking league. What happens next is what will determine Wilders future prospects. If we finish in the play-offs or better then the spotlight will be on him no doubt and the big boys will start (emphasise start) to take notice. If we finish mid-table or lower then both he and United will remain in relative obscurity. In other words no one will give a fuck.
What you have to remember is that United are historically a respected club and most football fans outside of Sheffield would expect to see them in a better position than they have been for the past 7 years. The recent promotion would have been looked upon as an "about fucking time" rather than "cor that Wilder must be a reight manager".
So sit down and relax, Wilder's going nowhere, he's still got something to prove yet.
