We also showed potential investors that there is a club worth buying.
Personally I'd prefer some potential buyers who were capable of proper due diligence rather than someone who thinks Cov are going to be pulling in forty thousand for home games because they saw some cup game on TV.

By taking a disproportionate number of fans, to the final of a cup 90% of fans despise?

Do you think investors buy clubs in the fourth tier of English football, with no due diligence taking place?

That is funny because despite winning the league you have been talking about us every week.

No not really, but we got the face on and rightly so because you lot acted like a bunch of cunts.. believe it or not, you're not a "beloved" football institution and never were, your behaviour that night set you into the tossers bracket and trying to get a game abandoned, well, you should have had a points deduction in my opinion.

Finally, if you want to protest your club, do it in the car park where the people who have shit on you are there trying to get to their cars after the match, you might get somewhere, enjoy your cup success, and hopefully your relegation..

Trouble is 35k plus of those there yesterday won't be going in the league season.

I bet the owners are rubbing their hands waiting for all the offers coming in though.

In all my years of being a fan I have never known coventry get big crowds, even when they had a good team whenever they played at the Lane it always had a couldn't care less feel to it, Coventry have a bigger population than clubs near by like Leicester, Derby and forest but somehow dont compare, asked a cov fan once who their main rivals were, he didnt really know, just had a guess, boring club or what?

Raised a pint to the 45,000 Coventry fans singing their hearts out and having a day to enjoy after 20 years of fucking shite on and off the field.

We know how you feel!!

Shouldn't have any problems filling your home ground now then....to show any new owners the potential? I do have sympathy with your situation. But you either boycott games or you don't. Taking 45k to Wembley must have been a Fund Managers dream.

I just don't get why the majority of Coventry fans don't understand that they would have our full sympathy if their protests back in December were not to our detriment on the pitch. I struggle to see what is really hard to understand about that. Other clubs have had our sympathy in the past i.e. Charlton, Blackpool and even Rotherham. We're not heartless.

They still don't understand why their shenanigans pissed us off. Apparently it shouldn't bother us because we won. Idiots.

Joke club, hilarious how they're going on over their trophy win.

Rotherham were very well treated by us, both the supporters who donated a lot of cash to help them and by our club who let them loan quite a few of our young talents (like Squinny) for nowt. We're a decent bunch when people don't take the piss.

They probably shouldn't worry about SISU then because they've won a cup.

Helps with Charlton that they actually informed us beforehand of the plan, and told us they were going to do it early in the game so as not to disrupt the actual football too much/ Which they did, and we supported wholeheartedly. Did we not get a heartfelt message of thanks from their supporter's club or something because of it? Thought we did...

Yep. We gave them every penny from the beamback of a derby against the Unclean as I recall (the other half of Sheffield did precisely fuck-all for them i recall), plus a loan from the club in cash-money as well as players. They walked away with a big chunk of goodwill and assistance from us... and then threw a lot of that back in our faces when they went up a few years ago. They seemed to have forgotten that without us, there'd have been a substantially greater chance they'd have gone out of existence completely. Toytown tossers.

I think some of them have but I try not to judge a fan base just on a few gobshites with a social media presence. Anyway, we didn't do it for thanks, we did it because it was the right thing to do.

Oh, definitely agreed on that. Absolutely the right thing to do, and certainly not all of them.

What if a Sky Blue fan, such as PUSBCCFC came on here in a respectful manner and explained their fans intended a protest on Wednesday. Something that would not disrupt the match, such as a mass walk out from the away end?

I'd like to think, given we had shown sympathy in the past to teams mired in trouble with rotten owners that we would offer solidarity. But after the debacle at the Ricoh, I am sorry to say I can't see it from either their fans or ours. Such is the consequence of the unfortunate actions at that match.

Coventry fans, don't think my missus would be happy if all the Rotherham fans were shot as her brother and family are all millers, although, you could put me down for a maybe, as I can see pros and cons in the idea!!;)

A mass walkout???

300 there. How would we notice??

More to the point who would care!??

I accept your point about the "mass" walk out.

Your final sentence sort of reinforces my point. We have cared in the past for a number of teams, including Coventry. Their ill thought out protests at the Ricoh have poisoned that well.

Laughing at this thread whilst being hungover from yesterday.

I'm not bothering to go tomorrow. Only missed 2 away games all season and have been BL many times before.

Nuneaton

Just off tangent . I went to watch Nuneaton play non league and the fans were like animals , in the Hereford mould .

I had respect for the demise and situation Coventry City found themselves in , with a bit of By the Grace of God Go I , relating to The Blades .

However unlike other clubs in the shit , Coventry treat us with contempt .

No more sadness from me for Coventry City . Some fans seem as bad as the owners . The club is just toxic .
