what were your favourite boots as a kid

seemed to remember having a pair of adidas santiago every year thru school, followed by patrick keegan tops with bright green stripes on em that looked great but the leather instep wore out halfway thru season, so played with a bloody great hole in the boot for remainder. soon went back to the adidas

Doc Martens with ox blood polish, and the dog shit attractors Monkey Boots

Had Adidas Santiago, Mitre, Gola but my favourite was Puma. Remember Eusibio in the 1966 World Cup looking cool in a pair of Pumas.

(I think the Nike logo is an upside down Puma logo).

slightly missing the point fred, was referring to the rotating studs when i said ankle breaking boots, but it did make me smile

Your initial post was a mirror image of my boot experiences,I did have a pair of Gola Top,but I'd rather not talk about them,I did end my playing days in Nike boots, marvellous they were

Do you remember Billy's Boots. They turned Billy from a hopeless footballer into a goalscoring genius. I wonder if he ever grew out of them and, if so, what happened to Billy then? Did he go back to being rubbish or had he learned Deadshot Keen's predatory skills?
they finally wore out about 2 weeks ago but he's hoping the pair he ordered off eBay will arrive in time for the Millwall match

Scougall?

Adidas predators with the knobley rubber front.
Also had a pair of reebok boots that were really comfy I recall, used them for training.
And for the pen (was a Tarmac 5aside court), pair of adidas torsion trainers.

Nothing fancy, as not a fancy player, black boots and get the business done. Although I did wear red boots for one season and the team I then played for never let me forget it.

I did manage to get a pair of Beckenbaurs in my teens. I polished them so the white stripes went grey and changed the studs to aluminiums.

As an adult it went to Patrick, Puma Kings, adidas, Reebok Cross Trainers, more adidas (matching cross trainers and boots) and since I gave up the pitch game I now have a pair of monogrammed red and white adidas Kaisers, which may be my last.

I used to love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Great subject!

Quaser
First pair i can really remember wanting were Quaser. At the time, Gary Lineker was my hero (after 1986 World Cup), being an avid Shoot reader i used to study what boots he had, finally got a pair of them

Umbro with Wishbone
The best pair i ever had though as a kid were a pair of Umbro boots and i think they were among the first with their 'wishbone' technology and they were light and comfy, yet had a decent thickness of leather so were ideal for a young midfield enforcer.

Very please to say that Umbro have recently brought back the Speciali eternal, which features the same technology and are pretty much the same as i remember. Never realised Shearer wore them!

All Time Favourites - Adidas World cup

At school, your dream boot was either a puma king or adidas world cup, like audi and bmw you never crossed the divide.

All time favourite boots though, Adidas World Cup or the various incarnations of these for the different surfaces - World Cup (with screw in studs), Copa Mondial (Moulded), Mundial (Astro). Finally got a pair when i was about 17 and despite following a couple of trends since, see below, I went back to them when i made my post ACL comeback in 2013, at 36. Ended up buying all versions of them.

Adidas Predator
Following a pair of Mizuno (red), Black Lotto's and a brand i can't remember the name of, think they were Joma or similar, I flirted with a few versions of the Adidas predator over the years as they evolved. However, i found that as a shit player, the 30% extra power and curve quoted in the marketing, just ended up with having to run further to retrieve the balls i'd ballooned.

I was wearing a pair of White (yes, i admit it) Predator pulse on the 3G at Dronfield when i ruptured my ACL, slightly different to these as i bought them in Qatar and they were rubber tipped on the moulded studs. becks.jpg

This is a decent article...

Patrick keegan top then picked some hummel up from ccc,but neither improved my ball playing skills as a big hairy arsed defender:rolleyes:

Meant to add... i recently found in my box of Blades programmes, all my stud keys from the various boots.

Adidas Predators or Nike Tiempos the first ones Ronaldinho brought out. Rocked up to an u14's match for my local team in a pair of adidas world cups and everyone was thinking what the fuck are they, the leather on them was unreal, so comfy.
