We were shit and didn't deserve it!

Not my words - but those of some fellow Blades on the 17.22 train back from Peterborough to Doncaster.

I despair!

I can only assume these so called fans know nothing at all about football and this was the first ever game they've seen?

The first 20 mins was pretty even imo. After that we got a grip on the game that we never gave up. We dominated it but no game is a given and few are a stroll in the park.

Some fans seem to expect it to be perhaps?

I was very satisfied with the performance and delighted with the result.

Shit we definitely were not and deserving winners we certainly were.

Funny how some see it differently eh?

What do others think?
Cerberus, have to agree, we (4) who went all thought the first 20-30 minutes were pretty even but the last 15 minutes and most of the second we were in control, when we got home to the pub half a dozen folks from kivo came in, never seen them before but said exactly the same, although it was0-1, we should have won by more, Hanson missed a couple of headers in the second half and Lafferty akthough the ball was rising should have done better, not finding fault, its all part and parcel but shows we were easily the better team

massive shout to the madhead that streamed the 'entire' match from the terraces. i owe you a beer whoever you are .. shame about the woolly hat although i notice you got him to move.. nice work :)
Not a bad hat but the one towards the end of Foxy s video is better. Around secs mark.

There were a few in that Charters after the match who looked like they'd been more concerned with supping ale than watching United.

I had to nip down for a piss halfway through the second half. There were more than a handful of blokes standing down the back supping watching SSN, long after the kiosks had closed.

I don't understand why you'd pay ~£20 for a match ticket only to not watch any of the match and pay £4 a shitty bottle of Carlsberg. If you just fancied the day out, save the cost of the match ticket and drink somewhere better!

Edit: Just to add, I didn't see those particular blokes causing any bother. It was just perplexing!

Quite a strange comment really.

The only thing that was disappointing again, was that we only scored 1 goal. We make hard work of beating teams. 3 nil would have been a fair reflection of the game yesterday.

My opinion is our movement in the box is poor. Hanson has showed in 2 games that he does have good movement though.

Our crossing is generally poor - needs vast improvements if we go up.

I was watching the BBC updates whilst fishing. All I could see was progressive pressure on Peterborough which could only go one way. When Sharp scored I wasn't surprised. What with other results going our way yesterday could not have been better.

As I have said, I'll call it now. I think we are up. I don't think Bolton have it in them to catch us (and I think they will fuck it up in the playoffs too) and I thing Cunthorpe's heads are down. I think they will be happy to keep a respectable gap between them and Bolton and take the runners-up spot just to go up with us.

We have some tough games ahead and can absorb anther defeat and two draws, maybe three. But it looks like Tufty has the squad where he wants it now and has the fans firmly behind him. We are out of the McCabe window unscathed and should ... should make it across the line as Champions.

And that hopefully will be the second bit of (proper) silverware I will see in my life time won by United.

Some people just don't understand the game Fulwood we played really well from back to front,Peterborough put in a real shift they were crestfallen when we scored , the the body language of posh players said it all they left everything g out on the pitch ( credit to Grant Mccann) but they were beaten by a better. team who wanted the 3 points and not settling for one ,great stuff !!!

Agreed - we did play very well, and I enjoyed the result tremendously, but scoring in the 87th minute was late.
I recall a ball into our box that took a ricochet off a p'boro player and fortunately went wide at 0-0 shortly before we scored. If that had gone in it would have been daylight robbery. We need to be putting these games to bed much earlier. CW went bonkers at the draw at Charlton as we didn't pet them to bed either.

One thing that's good is we are discussing how to make a very good team better - what a great situation after last season.

I think if you've followed the Blades for any length of time you should realise that what we've got now is a bit special. We won't always play teams off the park from first whistle till last, but this team gets on top of other teams and dominates them - they stick to their methods and they never stop trying - even when they are comfortably ahead. I like that. I respect it. That to me is my Sheffield United.

I've seen them play shit many times over the years. This isn't it. This is a team who are going places and fans shouldn't get critical when other teams are having their influence on the game and making it hard for us. That happens in all games.

Well done for another relentless dominant performance which led to a result.

Credit to Peterborough also for making a contest of it. I thought they did well but we deserved the 3 points in the end.
