AT one point there were plans for a 'Quiet section' like the quiet carriage on trains.

But then they got all ambitious, went ahead and made the whole ground one.

Where is that damn coat?

Underneath the pile of donkey porn.

The Kop needs making steeper then fill the corner in with the South. That is the first bit for me. You can see that it's not steep enough here:

Pitch looks terrible, what a waste of money that desso was

Some great ideas on this thread the only fly in the ointment is the is a feckin hotel in the way of any large scale extension to the stands .................. Thanks McCabe.

And don't forget the club don't own it anymore!

A missed open goal of Connor Sammon type proportions there....

If we wanted to carry out large scale extensions to any of the stands which stand couldn't we do because of the hotel?

If and when we get back to the Premiership we'll need a 40,000 capacity stadium without a doubt.

Those who say I sound like The Pigs should realise that the fuck I would give about that is in use by someone else.

Here's the artist impression of what it looks like in the approved plans. What a great stadium that would be:

It's great but to afford that even if we reached th Premier League then that bullshit article the other day about The Prince being worth £18billion would need to be true.

We'd need ten seasons in the PL with a couple in Europe to fund such stadium dreams.

And the Star/Radio Pig/council would be on our case every fucking step of the way. They'd hate us to be bigger than the massive.

I just did, ask a stupid question get a stupid answer.
A clue to why we couldn't extend very far or turn the pitch ................

Does that image prove beyond doubt that we couldn't extend the south stand? I'm guessing you mean the south stand (despite your inability to answer my question) as we couldn't extend the away end or the corner due to the proximity of the road.

The section of the hotel which looks like it's overlapping the south stand is no issue with today feats of engineering, unless when you say 'large scale extension' you mean adding an extra 30,000 seats to the south stand. In that case then I fully agree.

The local infrastructure wouldn't be able to support such a stadium either. There's no rail/tram links, the roads around Highfield are a fucking nightmare and there's no mass car parking area.

I think we'd best think about getting into the Championship first.

Someone mentioned on here the other day apparently the extended tram route is going to go down Bramall Lane, not that it makes any difference as the stadium development won't be happening any time soon

If we turned the pitch by 90 degrees the hotel would be where part of the Bramall Lane Extension should be.

1083 Sheffield United Football Club, Highfield - South Stand, Cherry Street Sheffield United Football Club Extension to South Stand (4,500 sq.m.) to provide an additional 6,671 seats, additional car parking and ancillary facilities (350 sq.m. Along with the Kop extension (scheme no. 1071, now expired) this would increase the capacity of the stadium to 44,500. Developer: Gross Floorspace: Value: not known 69 car parking spaces 7000 sq metres No. of jobs: not known Bramall Lane Highfield Sheffield S2 4RD c/o Agent:- 0113 386 3800 Turley Associates (Leeds) Telephone/Email: Agent: Contact Name: website: Main Planning Application Number: 14/03911/FULR

chicken or egg scenario

Oh now come on please ........ there is no way we could EVER be bigger than the MASSIVE even if we were in the Premiership for 10 seasons and won the European Cup 5 seasons running !!:rolleyes:

They would have been playing their games in a stadium the size of a small planet and top of the interplanetary league by then and be permanent holders of the Galaxy Cup !! ;)o_O

Darthblade speaks the truth. We are never to dream to be bigger than those cunts.

I honestly don't think that's true. The amount of money in the Premier means that one good player costs the same as a shiny new stand. The trick is to maintain the focus of a club that is attempting to grow its infrastructure and improve its playing performance at the same time. If Spurs manage to hold onto the Champions League places whilst rebuilding their stadium they'll have achieved something pretty special.

Of course it isn't true. I'm surprised you even contemplated it might be.

Your correspondent has demonstrated on countless occasions that he isn't even on nodding terms with the truth (or reality, for that matter); neither does he care.

Whereas you are the doyen of rationality, at all times. I mean, you provide proof with each bizarre outburst representing your odd stream of consciousness. You're the forum's equivalent of a bag lady who shouts at traffic.

C'mon. Show us all how we will be able to sustain a position in the top flight and embark upon a massive structural change in S2 almost instantaneously. You have the figures. Don't you?

Thought not.

Trot along now.

That would be an incredibly well read and eloquent bag lady with a sky-high intelligence quotient and an unequalled vocabulary, wouldn't it? I'd like to meet her. Her shouts are probably well worth some attention.

She certainly won't be working as a boat repairer (worthy labour though it is), I trust.
