Thought a poll would be a good idea to see how the forum felt, don't know how to get this in the other thread so my apologies for that.

He's alright for now, works bloody hard chasing down and such like but needs to start getting goals in his game.

Not good enough on this season's form. Yes, he runs around a lot and whilst some of this helps the team, much of It seems pointless.

His poor finishing and tendancy to be offside are very frustrating.

Done CV is Rochdale , Barnsley , Rochdale , Sheffield United . He is what he is , a league 1 inconsistent player . If he wasn't he would not be playing for us . Unfortunately for Done , we have outgrown him , and he has not stepped his game up . Why , because he can't . He ain't good enough with a limited football brain .

He will not be here January IMO , and most likely be used as part of a swap cash deal for a better player .

Served his purpose . Good luck to the bloke , but just not good enough for a automatic promotion push side.

Is it time for Ched . No idea but we need a player who can make , score goals , who would bed in immediately .

UTB

Whatever he is doing obviously works. I think he's a good player, he does a lot of dirty work, but needs to start banging them in again to be regarded as one of our best.

I think it's the poor football, low gates and lack of TV coverage that makes me want to stay in this division the most.

You and Kev both although his dreams are bolstered by spunking a few million of his families inheritance every season and that Desso putch he loves so much.

The one and only thing the "realists" (their word) out there have achieved is keep our season ticket prices down by not attending Good on 'em I say!

Vote whichever way you want , but unless Wilder recruits a better option in January Done starts .

When all the posturing is finished i guess it's a question of whether or not you have faith in our manager ?

I'm not sure a Forum is the place for blind faith

Blind faith , forum faith , faith with bells and Christmas tinsel on ...... its Wilder that picks Done so do you have faith in what he's doing or not ?

Of course I have faith in the manager, given the fantastic improvement in the team.

But not to the extent where I would use that as a catch all

I think at the moment in our ranks he is the best partner for Billy. Are there better more suitable players out there? Probably.

Until we have an improvement on Done I have no issue with him starting every game. Its up to Lavery/Clarke to prove their worth :)

He works his bollux off more than any other player at the club
So I'll always appreciate that quality, so for me it's a YES (Good) at league 1 level.

There are question marks about him though.
Will he hack it in the Championship? Probably not, we should be looking for an upgrade.
And do we give make him a squad player instead of a 90 minute man.
It's no coincedance that we seem to play well when Done plays
However against Oldham Clarke looked very effective in the 2nd half when he replaced Done.

Agree with an earlier poster He's our current day version of Nick Montgomery.

Not really rated by the fans but probably the 1st name of the team sheet due to his ability to do all the dirty work making the other players around him shine.

62% for Matty being Good, and at least one of those was only because the gormless bleeder who voted forgot to look down the list and so didn't notice that Very Good was another option.

Imagine if we'd bought a player for £30m and - after 18 games - he'd only scored once with no assists? Well that's N’Golo Kante's record at Chelsea so far this season. Titter ye not, I'm not comparing the two but Done - like Kante - is not an out and out striker but he puts in the hard yards and is instrumental in Billy's goals tally so far. Unlike Adkins' ridiculous comment about us fans 'not seeing the work' the lamentable Hammond did (because he didn't), Done is a catalyst in why Wilder's tactics are paying off. Read Jamie Redknapp's view on the 'mole'.

Just my opinion, but I fear that we may have another case of 'Stephen Quinn' here, where people don't see his effect.

If Done did, sorry does what Done did or rather had done before but didn't or doesn't, I mean what Done hasn't done... errrr, just get rid.

There are question marks about him though.
Will he hack it in the Championship?

Will he hack it in the inevitably tight, vital home games v Bolton, Scunny and Bradford?

Would we be better cutting our losses & upgrading in January, hopefully before Billy hits a barren spell?

Whilst I am growing increasingly frustrated with Done's inability to trouble the scoresheet, there is no doubt that our system right now needs Done's energy to work. People are going to point to the game changing when Done went off vs. Coventry and vs. Oldham but I'm of the opinion that Done runs the legs off defenders which makes it easier for Clarke/Lavery to come on and look good as a substitute. Done is, in my opinion, the Cresswell to Sharp's Evans - very similar things were said about Cresswell throughout the 2011/12 season and I think he got 6-7 goals but he made the space for Evans to bag 30+ - looks to me that Sharp will get around 30 off the back of Done's work. I'm not averse to the idea of replacing Done - he has missed some sitters in recent weeks and his confidence in front of goal has gone - but neither Clarke nor Lavery have done enough when starting games to suggest they are the answer. I think Lavery has had less chance for this and I am interested to see him start a game as I think he might be willing to do the running that Done does with an end product too. If we can buy Done with finishing ability in January, we should. I love Done's efforts and enthusiasm but we have to improve on him if the opportunity presents itself. For now though, until the time comes that we can improve on him, I'm happy for him to keep running the defenders all over for an hour and then Lavery or Clarke coming on and grabbing the headlines with Billy.
