Football is a game played over 90 minutes plus injury time. We were good for 70 minutes and only scored once. That's our fault. We missed several chances.

Did we even have a serious shot on target after their equalizer?

I agree that sometimes there are fine margins in football and luck does play a part. If we were denied a stone-wall penalty in that match after their second goal one in the 96th minute could argue luck definitely played a part in our defeat, but it didn't on this occasion.
We scored once, scored again which was disallowed in a marginal VAR call. Miles the better team. Who creates the best chance in the game after that? We do. They scored a good goal, we have multiple important players go off injured, our CB is off the pitch when they counter attack and score a wonder goal.

We did loads of things wrong, but so did Charlton in their tight, 1-0 play off final win. We played better than them. Wimbledon also made loads of mistakes, allowed some counter attacks, but no Walsall player managed to score.

A team could play amazingly well, dominate possession, create ten big chances and give up none, and still lose. I would say they're unlucky, you would say they should've took their chances and not given away the 0.08 xG chances that they conceded.

Sigh
Aye
Cant be rsd to read the same old shite beyond to ask
How many other clubs haven’t won a trophy in 100 years - or more, or never (beating Sun’lun wouldn’t have changed that) & not got into 10 (or any) play offs - let alone “failed” in them.
Why not ask how many clubs havent spent >60 seasons in the ‘top division’

Solution:- Go buy a Liverpool jersey- you can keep it with your Citeh, Chelski, Manure Spewcastle & Blackburn ones when you “supported” them
Or, even easier get a PSG jersey & confirm you don’t understand a fuckin thing about football
Me, I’ve always had a soft spot for Oldham

And (far) more than 46 haven’t

Having only 5 premier league seasons between the two Sheffield clubs in the 21st century (if we count 1999-2000) is ridiculous for one of England's big 6 cities.
He certainly missed that point,we can get bigger the charade at s6 is beyond beleif ,we seem to get a younger generation coming through a lot more than the other sheffield club, bur we need a good infrastructure b, the lane is nt a bad ground its just in a bad area

Just to say....

The main question - why have we underachieved for a Century. And many of the points raised above are the subject of a new book. Essentially written and published to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the 1925 FA Cup triumph.

"Winning Isn't Everything"
"Sheffield United's Unfulfilled Century"

I’ll have to buy that one. Armstrong’s sociological investigation into Blades hooligans was a brilliant read.
