The Stir......open letter

They just don't get it do they?

It's not really a case of SUFC not willing to show some solidarity - we have in the past with them, and did so for Charlton.

The fact that they tried to spoil the match with their pitch invasions and whistle blowing, potentially resulting in the match being abandoned, which could have had a detrimental effect on our promotion push, was just totally out of order.

There are many ways to protest - just don't do it when the opposition team could be adversely affected as it's not their problem.

Fucking idiots just can't grasp that.

Fcuk that rag and its pathetic anti SUFC bias. They don't even try to hide it any more. Any local paper worth its salt would only print such a pathetic unbalanced letter alongside a rebuttal defending the local side. They should decamp their offices to South Barnsley and allow a group of genuine, unbiased and, most of all, talented, journalists to take over the supply of a balanced and articulate local paper.

We should just fuck the Stir off completely for this, media blackout style like Barnsley did a few years ago.

And half of the plebs weren't protesting anyway, they were trying to goad our lot.....what about the fat twat with the flag during the pitch invasion giving it the wanker sign........if Cov fans had protested and not looked to cause us and our team grief it would have been one thing but our fans reacted after prolonged and aggressive provocation....

By getting offended, we're running the risk of being dragged down to their level of giving a shit about what other fans think of us.

Stick Coventry fans in the twats thread and let's get back to arguing amongst ourselves about whether Done is shit or the second coming of Suarez.....

Usual Stir anti United shite BB.

Forget about the pitch invasions. if a single Blade blew a referee's whistle or lobbed a tennis ball at opposition they'd be slung out, maybe even banned, and the Star would be all over it and headline it negatively.. But if 100's of Coventry fans do the same throughout a full game it's ok and we should be ashamed ourselves for not joining in. To make things worse, we then go and score the winner. Shameful!

Dirty stinking Pig propaganda rag, any Blades who buys it really needs to have a word with themselves.

Fuck 'em.
Fuck The Star
Fuck Coventry City
Fuck Jimmy Hill
Fuck West Ham
Fuck Trevor Brooking
Fuck Peter Scudamore
Fuck Carlos Tevez
Fuck Wednesday
Fuck 'em, just fuck 'em all.
And that, my friends, is fucking swearing

I think you meant Richard rather than the hard working former jump jockey (unless you know he's a Coventry or West Ham fan).

How is their campaign ever going to recover now ? All is lost, SISU have won.

I've never heard of away supporters chanting against the opposition in my entire life, as he says it could have lead to violence on the terraces.

Given the crowd comparison it's written by that bellend who's been posting on here last night.

Have Coventry banned any of the culprits for breaking ground regulations yet ?

Funnily enough that will be the first question the FA will ask. Fortunately, it will swiftly move on to responsibilities, consequences and sanctions. SISU must be laughing their bollocks off at all this (with the exception of a likely fine if they don't gain some sort of control over disruption to games)

Absolutely clueless if they are getting distracted by some tame chanting by away supporters.

Nice of our local rag to provide a "balanced view" on last night......anyone care to do a right to reply?

We are obviously the most horrible and nasty team in the country, let's sign Ched and put the icing on the "we're Sheffield United, we'll do what we want" cake....

But it's not an open letter to Sheffield united fans. It's a letter to a handful of fans that sang pro-sisu songs last night, and those fans won't give a shit about or even read this open letter. I agree that the chants were a bit cynical, but they weren't harmful. It was just a bunch of people saying anything they can to try to piss the Coventry fans off. Evidently it worked.

You have to feel bad for any fans who have to deal with that sort of shit from the owners, but I hope that all these vitriolic comments about "Sheffield united fans" and open letters are temporarily satiating their authors' frustrations, because that's all they're good for.

You'd think they'd have bigger fish to fry than small percentile of the Sheffield United fan base that tried to wind them up on a whim.

Daft.

I've tried to log in but the website (like the rest of the paper) - is so badly constructed it kept 'hanging'.
This really is the pits even by The Stir's standards. The Coventry fan didn't even give half the story - not even a quarter, but the went ahead and published it anyway. I would never dream of paying 65p (?) for this amateuristic, pig-biased crap. I prefer Radio Sheffield...

Should be interesting listening tonight - that's if the usual morons 'In Caaarlos we troost!' and Mick the Pig don't hog the programme. As usual.

So what we have is:

"Some nasty (sarcastic) chanting" which in the grand scheme of things makes fuck all difference

Versus

Invading the pitch
Chucking stuff at our players
Trying to disrupt play by whistling while we were in possession
Trying to get the game abandoned at 85 minutes - all of the above could have a bearing on our potential promotion this season
Attacking Sheffield United fans at the coaches
Issuing death threats and similar on social media - both of which are criminal acts

Yeah... I can see how we're in the wrong there, lads.

Well done to The Star for upholding the standards of journalism we have come to expect from them.

Having been there last night and going by today's bleeting by Coventry fans and any other team that fancies jumping on the band-wagon you can't help but think the Cov fans have ramped up the pro-SISU piss-taking chants as they know they went way too far last night and by deflecting the attention onto us they not only increase the sympathy vote but deflect from their own appalling behaviour.

They broke the law, trespassed, assaulted a fan and tried to get a game abandoned that thousands had paid good money to travel to and watch

We sang some piss taking non aggressive chants .

If anything we should be pissed off with them

Do they write letters to every local rag when a team turns up and chants something they don't like.

It was football BANTER and tame compared to the types of stuff I've heard from Leeds and Wendy fans at the Lane.

I think they need to grow up and get a thicker skin. If you want the opposition fans on yourside then at least be ameniable hosts to start with.

Was there just me who started reading that in a Trainspotting "Choose Life" kind of way ?
Just needs a bit of work at the end BB otherwise job done.

If they are so focused on protesting against their owners, I don't get why they are so upset what a bunch of pissed-off northerners think/chant?

It's beyond self-entitled to expect us to sit back and support their protests if it's working against our team (which it was, unarguably). There's a sense of self-entitlement to Coventry fans from last night I can't understand, and in turning their ire on us they're losing sight of their ostensible real enemy.

Oh I'm sure they'd be really happy if they come to our ground, loads of us have whistles and blow only when they have the ball.
