Read that he was the first Blade to get sent off in a league game in a match at Crewe and he was so worried that he'd get attacked by Crewe fans that when he got sent off, he promptly ran to the railway station and hid on the platform until the rest of the team turned up.

It was from wikipedia, however I'm sure I've also read this in one of the blades books I've got (possibly the Blades Biography). Still you'd want it to be true wouldn't you!

Another story which is a bit tragic really is that there was a Liverpool forward called Allen (George?) who every time he played against the Blades, tried to barge Foulke over. Foulke, understandably, got fed up with him so during a match on a freezing pitch when Allen tried it once too often, Foulke picked him up by his ankles and dropped him on the ground on his head causing the forward to go off with concussion.

Apparently, a couple of years later Allen died of a brain hemorrhage.
