yes he is- anybody that watched him 'in the last 10 mins he was on' could see he could barely jog never mind run- he was completely 'expired'.In bits? Are you sure
The other thing to note was his run. He was in our area when Brewster headed it out, he then ran the length of the pitch at tremendous pace burning off the Sunderland lads. To then come up with that finish was amazing.Thought his finish on Saturday was worth singling out, it was absolutely top class.
Yes, so was the pass, albeit with a bit of fortune going through the defenders legs, but the first touch from Tyrese was perfect and to have the ability and composure to lift it is the sign of a top end striker who I have no doubt should be our main man next year.
It was a goal the likes of Henry, Rooney, RVP have all scored plenty of and if we can create more opportunities likes that for him we’ll be alright.
Brooksy, take note son.
Get Tony Daley back great fitness trainerA full pre season with our fitness team and he might only manage 45 mins per game next season.
There seems to be something seriously wrong with our preparation. Has anyone considered that the way we regularly retreat into our shell second half might not be down to management instruction but fitness levels? We seem to be badly lacking in this area and it has to be looked at.
Even if we can get him up to a 75 minute player that will be an improvement! Either that or we leave him as a impact player. For a 25 yr old he's had a fair few injuries, there's every chance he will never be a 90 minute player
I do agree, but I'm not sure our fitness team are good enough as it is. We often look like we're short on fitness compared everyone else.Even if we can get him up to a 75 minute player that will be an improvement! Either that or we leave him as a impact player.
When we scored that I thought "we're on it today". If that 2nd hadn't been chalked off, I genuinely think we would have gone on to win 3 or 4 nil. Hey ho!! Never mind...Sublime assist and finish.
It scared the living shit out of me.
I wonder how much of this is because we didn't have a squad until very lateI do agree, but I'm not sure our fitness team are good enough as it is. We often look like we're short on fitness compared everyone else.
Also Campbell probably should have been an impact player, it's just that he's by far our best striker.
He couldn't do 90 mins at stoke!I think he’s a class player at this level. Very clinical and explosive striker. An exceptional signing that the Wilder out crowd conveniently forget when bemoaning his transfer record.
Hopefully with a preseason he can play full 90s, he’s obviously had fitness issues as Cannon started every other game since he’s come in.
Stamina apart, the surprise package this season. Has a good striker's instinct.
Problem some on here think it’s the drinking culture in StokeHe couldn't do 90 mins at stoke!
If Sunderland hadn't gone up, Mayenda would have been straight out of the door this summer, he's tailor made for the pace and physicality of English Football. If he could last longer than 60 mins he’d be getting 15 mil plus bids- look at how mayenda never stopped running all game for sunlun. We lack that.
TBF, he could have had 20+ goals this season had he been a little more prolific in some games.Campbell was done, we all secretly know that.
He's an absolute class act but if we kept him on (over Moore) and they scored from a corner like they did late vs Cov, the other half of the fans would be slating Wilder.
Its a worry Campbell can't make 90min, but hopefully a full preseason will help with that because he could easily get 20+ goals next season.
There isn’t a championship striker who can score better than 1 in 3 or 4 chances on anything other than a short term basis. It’s unrealistic to expect them to do so.TBF, he could have had 20+ goals this season had he been a little more prolific in some games.
Noticed it mainly around January to April, he'd have 2/3 sometimes 4 chances a game, but he'd only end up taking 1 of them, plus he had a goal drought between Coventry (H) and the playoff final.
Even if he only plays 60-70 minutes a game next season, he could get 20+ goals if he takes the chances, he's certainly got the ability to do it.
Fair enough. There isn’t a championship striker who can score better than 1 in 3 or 4 chances on anything other than a short term basis. It’s unrealistic to expect them to do so.
Which is brought into focus more due to not having suitable impact forwards from the bench.
100%, this. We sorely lack a like-for-like replacements, which is evidence if we needed it that we are still early on in a rebuild. We ask Hamer and Campbell to run round like smaller, thinner, slower players. They are both explosive athletes. Quicker than they look like they shoukd be etc. But that sort of player, being asked to run lots of long counter attacking sprints will struggle to keep it up. You should build a system that gets the best from them for 90 or have a clear and definitive attacking plan for when they go off. United's plan is to try the same stuff but with worse players
I talk about what can be worked on and what comes natural. Campbell has it all, it's just his consistency he needs to work on. That will come with fitness and longevity. He's smart like Billy, and technical like Dids, strong like Beattie and direct like Moose. He could be a world beater next season with the right partner and midfield behind him.TBF, he could have had 20+ goals this season had he been a little more prolific in some games.

As a team we don’t create enough chances, it must be painful being a striker for us.Fair enough.
His goal drought was what was most concerning, as it coincided with our drop in form.
True, I think part of that is down more to individual players rather than us as a team.As a team we don’t create enough chances, it must be painful being a striker for us.
Blaster will help with that. He can create through the middle, and when he does that it'll keep the opposition guessing so we'll get more joy on the wings too. Was it Millwall that we said we don't cross the ball? No ideal for a player like Moore is it? But, with some new/actual wingers and Blaster/Davies in the middle we'll create Campbell a lot more.As a team we don’t create enough chances, it must be painful being a striker for us.
For me it goes back to the way that we play, we’re a cautious and pretty boring team.True, I think part of that is down more to individual players rather than us as a team.
Its acknowledged that Hamer is our most creative player, Burrows, Seriki and Campbell create chances for other players every few games.
Robbo and Anel playing the odd long ball over the top have led to a few chances themselves.
Heck, even Cannon has created the odd chance for other players this season, but Cannon, like some of the other players aren't creating enough chances, especially compared to Hamer.
I think O'Hare has had a good first season for us, but I would like to see him create more chances next season, same with Brooks who IMO could create a lot more chances from out wide, especially as he will cut inside and take his man on.
Do you have any sense of what he might be struggling with? Can he hope to recover from whatever he has? I’ve not seen anything informative written or said about his health beyond moans about his inability to do 90 minutes and general comments about health having been an issue for a while for him.If you know even a bit about physiology (I'm level-1 ) it's easy to tell that unfortunately his problems are not related to lack of "fitness".
He's obviously in some pain which probably impacts on his general fitness, after about 60 mins or so.
It's easy to tell by the way he moves after that time. He's in pain.
All that said I hope we keep him.
By some distance he's the best striker we've got and hopefully he can get some proper treatment.
I’m sure I read that there’s some sort of chronic back issue? Might be wrong.Do you have any sense of what he might be struggling with? Can he hope to recover from whatever he has?
