Yes. I went with the chipmunk, too blurry, then I went with Zorro but it was too creepy.

Now I've got a skunk playing the bongo I'm settled. What more could you want?
Quiet apt sir good choice, there does seem to be a certain stench when your around I just can't put my finger on what it is.

You're not STILL bitter about that time where you started spouting off about something you knew nothing about and ended up apologising because you were wrong, are you?

For your information, the skunk is in association with the blue background.

Bitter me never. I'm riding high on a wave of optimism regarding the season ahead things are starting to take shape nicely don't you think? I don't recall apologising merely admitted that I had got it wrong. All this from the man who thinks that to cancel a contract all you do is rip it up and not pay the player. Fukin ironic :D:D

Can I be the second poster this morning to state the bleeding obvious. We should be trying for better than a 31 year old Bury FC forward.

Why?
Our aim is to get out of this division and he's proven at this level. I don't care if new signings are 31 or 51, as long we achieve promotion.
So far the majority of our new signings have excelled at League 1 level with previous clubs.

If by “it” you mean their best then yes, all those players you mention were/are past it.

If by “it” you mean a level of ability where they can still be of use then no, many of them were/are not past it.

As for Leon Clarke, I would have preferred us to take one of the many opportunities available to have signed him at some point over the course of the last 6 years when he was still in his twenties. That said, I think he could still be a good addition in the short term but wouldn’t want to pay a big fee for him at 31 especially when we could have got him on a free last summer.

Mentioned in Sheffield Star

"Sheffield United are monitoring Bury’s Leon Clarke as Chris Wilder attempts to bolster their attacking options.

Clarke, who could be allowed to leave David Flitcroft’s side as part of a belt-tightening exercise at Gigg Lane, represented the League One club’s arch-rivals Sheffield Wednesday earlier in his career and scored 18 goals last term.

Wilder, whose teenage prospect Dominic Calvert-Lewin is understood to have been the subject of a failed bid from Everton last week, has made no secret of his desire to recruit a “physical centre-forward” ahead of the new season.

Acknowledging that “several possibilities” were identified during a recent brain-storming session, Wilder told The Star: “Everybody knows that we’re looking for a powerful striker, just something a little different to what we’ve already got,” Wilder said. “There’s a list of names and, yes, some of those we’ve looked at a little bit more than others. But that’s all they are at the moment; names on a list.”

Is Leon Clarke the new Dan Burn/Chris O'Grady?. Bearing in mind what appears to have been the eventual take it or leave it offer for McFadz, perhaps not. Who then is the next target. Over to the FIFA 2017 boys.

It appears we have an inability to attract proven names eg Mcfazden or exciting prospects like Tammy Abrahams from Chelsea (if he is off to Bristol FFS) but we can attract free and or cheaper end tallent. Is that a failing or a strategy to cut our noses off to spit our faces,? Time will tell just hope Tufty's can turn these average joes into league winners cause I'm underwhelmed (on paper) so far.

Still think we need a keeper, CMF and big guy up front.

Can you explain our inability to attract McFadzean a bit further?

McF a "proven name" ? - only @ this level (& below) - just like the "free & cheaper end" folk we've signed
Abrahams going to which Brizzle? - if its City they are, by definition, better than us although that dunt tek much doin @ present
If Rovers then they are in the same league as us irrespective of 'size' 'status' & 'support'
Reckon if Chelski tolerate a loan to a 3rd Div side they'll be more bothered about minutes on the pitch than owt else - something we may not be able to match / guarantee given our embarrassment(!?!)of riches up top ?

Hope it's not Rovers as they've already got Matty Tailor so the 2 of her upfront would be a right handful. They could be a surprise package this year, they've got a lot of momentum after coming straight through 2 divisions and could do a 'Burton'

Amen brother.

But that would have had highlighted hair and would have been singing "You're too shy, shy. Hush, hush. Aye do aye"

That really is too obscure for most of this board and, I suspect Barney. But have a well done and a like for thinking outside the box, or even living in a box.

Is it today when we sign big Leon?! I reckon this signing will happen just because we've been linked for a few weeks now and he does fit the bill. The only thing that makes me think something is amiss is that I can't see Clarke coming to sit on the bench and play the Chief role. Surely Che Adams is going to go? Otherwise we have three big guys - Adams, DCL and Clarke and three smaller guys - Sharp, Done and McNulty.
