Because if you don't do owt, every league match will be £30, then £35, then £40. Where does it stop?
Bearing in mind, in our household, there are two people who want to go to every match, do you think £60, £70, £80 every other week is reasonable?
Going to the theatre is considered by some an elitist pursuit, but I can see touring ballets and operas for £20. I can go to the cinema to watch performances from the Royal Opera House for £17. Football clubs are taking people for mugs.
£30 to watch a rejuvinated, positive United beats going through the motions as a fan and paying £20 to watch a bunch of abject wankers at the end of last season.
Bolton built the Reebok/Macron in 1997. United fans are being asked to stump up for the fallout from Emile Heskey/Neil Lennons exorbitant wages. So you'd be happy to pay the same price for a seat in an uncovered temporary stand at Gillingham as you would for the upper tier at Bolton?
Surely it's fair that clubs who invest in new stands/stadiums charge more than clubs that provide sub standard facilities?
Well, no. The point is moot because I wouldn't pay £30 to sit at Bolton, never mind Gillingham.
What I am saying is that in terms of economics, I can more readily forgive a club with a 5327 capacity charging £22 for tickets (£117194 potential gate receipt) than I can a club with 28723 charging £30 a pop (£861690 potential).
There's somewhat of a disparity there which sort of looks like greed, don't you think?
I have no problem with the boycott, I just think if you are going to do it at least target all clubs and not let the "smaller" clubs off the hook cause their shitty little stand is £5 cheaper than Bolton.
Hence, twenty's plenty.
People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones! Until we sort out ticket prices for away fans at the Lane we shouldn't be complaining about clubs like Bolton.
Hopefully £30 for Bolton fans. If they think that's harsh try paying it when you've been stuck in this shithole of a league for six years
Do United charge £20 for away fans? I think I know the answer but don't know 100%.
If like I suspect, United charge more, then surely we should be getting our own house in order first? We've got more power to influence United than clubs like Bolton who we only visit once a season.

Not to speak for YES Blade, but if the poor ground is e.g £19 and a much better ground £24, you wouldn't be targeting all clubs as twenty's plenty implies you wouldn't boycott the poor ground game.
Exactly right, under twenty's plenty clubs like us and Bolton should be allowed to charge the full £20 whereas Gillingham should be maxed at £12 or £15 due to poor facilities. It's hardly fair on clubs that invest in a decent stand for away fans to achieve a similar income to clubs who provide a shithole!
Assume someone knows we've drawn a top four prem side in a cup if we've got cat A games.
Yeah. I thought that against Gillingham last season....
£30 for third tier football is a joke.
Fair enough, you don't think it. It's telling that the only examples you have to justify it are a play off final at Wembley and a Premiership match at Stamford Bridge.
Exactly, as I have mentioned throughout the thread, we have asked United to honour the twenty's plenty campaign. A previous MD said they wouldn't be and we haven't had a chat to the new one yet.
However, your comments about stone throwing are somewhat unwarranted. I don't set the home prices, just like Bolton fans don't set the away prices. It's the clubs who do and the fans who suffer.
The problem is, when football fans are so parochial, nothing will change. All the "fuck 'em, I hope we charge Bolton more" posts don't address the issues. Their fans are having to pay these prices for home tickets too. And some might think they are going to piss the league so it's worth it (we know how that one can go, don't we?).
I just don't see how we can complain about Bolton when their fans will be charged not much less at the Lane.
Because both are too much.
It's about the stadiums each club has, the motives behind how the stadium got to be where it is are irrelevant. £30 is ridiculous regardless but the point is that any campaign on pricing has to be staggered to target all clubs depending on their facilities and costs. I'm sure you don't need me to point out that clubs like Fleetwood will have significantly lower maintenance, ground and upkeep costs than we or Bolton do.I don't mean to be funny, but I think it's somewhat naive to think that the comfort of fans is the foremost motivation for clubs building new grounds, rather than the £££ they can get by increasing their capacity.
It's greed, more than anything, I think you'll find is their primary concern.
