Bolton boycott

As i'm only 18, my ticket will either be £12 or £7 depending on whether or not they count 18 as "under 18" or not. If this was £30 for myself, then I probably wouldn't go. Would be difficult not going to the first game of the season for a positive looking season for most blades fans

Isn't our highest price match day ticket £27 and £29 on the day?

FYI think that is too much as well as Bolton's ticket price.
That is why you buy your season tickets to lower the cost or one of the reasons at least. You have no choice at an away game it is either pay up or stay away. Robbin bastards.

Pretty sure our most expensive ticket is £23, rising to £25 if you pay on the day.

Bolton are starting off at £30, so if they bumped the prices up in the same way we did, it'd be £32 on the day.

I'm no expert, but I'm fairly sure that the previous owner Eddie Davies wrote off all his loans to the club when he sold it in March and they're starting with a clean sheet. It seemed a huge thing for him to do, because although he's not on the bread line, the debt was a huge chunk of his personal wealth.

From what I can recall from a chat I had with a Bolton supporter a while back, the debt did indeed get written off, I think it's the actual running costs that remain which is the crippler.

I won't pay more to go away than I pay to sit on the kop so it's a NO from me.

However, this is a pointless exercise unless the majority of our away support do it. If we still get best part of 3k turning up then they are fully justified in charging the price they have.
The football supporter has the power in their hands but can't muster up the resolve to use it so prices will be set accordingly.

This is the problem with any protest to do with football - the powers that be rely on the loyalty of fans to cough up regardless of cost or inconvenience. All people can do is one-by-one, say they've had enough.

If these prices were charged for any other game than Bolton, I wouldn't be going. But as my daughter lives there, I will get to see the grandchildren too. Our Jack is back from Spain for a couple of weeks as well and wants to go. It's going to cost me a fortune :(

Was gonna go as we miss first home match but won't be at that price. £42 for me and lad

I haven't been to the new stadium and as a senior mine is £23 anyway. Had I been before, I would have given this a miss. On this occasion though, I'm going especially as I will be in London for the first home game of the season :(

PS: If you feel you cannot boycott, I fully support your decision to go but perhaps some form of protest when you're there could be arranged?

Turn your backs on 30 minutes?

Not going but there was only ever a 1% chance so £0. For what it's worth, I agree that £30 for third division football is outrageous.

Even tho its a rip-off im going cos I've promised my daughter, and I'm not gonna let Bolton ruin my day out

4 x Adults were all going to do Blackpool and Bolton game. Had a chat this morning and we are still going for a knees up in Blackpool but definitely missing the game. £120

As much as it is ridiculous, I think I will end up going as it's local 'ish' and is the 1st game.

There's usually 5 of us that go. 2 have said they're not going at £30 and the other 2 are away but said they wouldn't have paid that so add £120

Is there not an official way of protesting to this?

Foxy is on about going with a Twenty's Plenty banner.

As for those not going, might I suggest an email explaining why sent to Bolton, Sheffield United, the Football League and the Football Supporters' Federation?

4 from our house + the daughter's boyfriend and his mate now not going. Plus brother in law so that makes £210.00

However,I said I wasn't going to Gillingham last year and changed my mind with a week to go (what a mistake that was) so £60 might have to come off the total eventually :-)
