It's there, it's just unseen!

I once heard Sam Allardyce talking about Premier League squads. He said that if if you ignore the top and bottom few teams, then the remaining 10 or so have very similar squads in terms of ability. He was meaning that, for example, Stoke could swap their squad with, say, West Brom and there wouldn't be a noticeable difference in the fortunes of either team. What managers are essentially looking for is for the right mix of players to fall into place, hence the term 'shuffling the pack'.

The desired outcome of course is to squeeze something extra out of those players, just like any number of examples including Bassett, and this season, Leicester, have done

So just because players have been released from a particular club, it doesn't mean they can't/won't do a decent job for SUFC. Likewise, there is/are clubs out there where SUFC's released players will fit in and do a decent job.

As for great names, what about the Cardiff guy who has been released....Jazzi Barnum Bobb! Just put MC in front and hey! a whole new career!

Spot on. And the perceived value of players will rise and fall depending on their club's fortune; a point I tried to make regarding the perception of player quality under Clough versus the perception of player quality under Adkins. Not that I'm wanting to open up that discussion again.

Jamie McDonagh's middle name is a cracker.

Are you..............

Graham Kelly and Shea Gordon signed pro deals and are missing.

James Wallace also not listed.

Hammond understandable was in transit.

Be a bonus if Elijah Price has been let go...

Have a like for the first one of the summer I've seen

Cheers SE Blade, It is usually when some one mentions an ex player, the two lines that usally follow, " he could still do a job for us" and if an attacking player "he would tear this division a new one"

Lovely stuff
