You need to move on from the thoroughly disastrous Adkins era, Pete. Never has a manager promised so much & delivered so little. Whatever the excuses that can be made on his behalf.
Best not trying to defend him any longer, eh? - doing so's probably standing in the way of getting enthused with the new chapter that Wilder brings.

YES Blade above says: yes, I'm excited about Adkins having been given the boot, & I'm excited too about Chris Wilder's big statement of intent. He's acted swiftly & decisively at a time when Adkins was offering clean slates to all & generally bottling it. So, plenty to be enthusiastic about.
But no getting carried away. Fully accept that the coming recruitment phase is a far bigger job than the much-needed clear out. Again, far rather Wilder doing it though - with his lower league nous & knowledge of what makes the club tick - rather than the ponderous (& broken?) Adkins with his reliance on those nearing pensionable age on unrealistic salaries.
