Can't argue with much of that selection tbf.

Fleck and Norwood need fucking off for me. And Burke should have been in Japan running the 100m and 200m for Scotland. Robbo not good enough, goes for the whole left side of that defence tbh.

Board need to get a move on, ASAP.

Not counting new signings, I feel this squad is only suited to playing 5 at the back.

If SJ wants to play with a 4, I reckon we need at least 4/5 players before you can even pick a starting 11 with any chance of being competitive.

We're all much of a muchness really.
Nobody we bring off the bench gets a real cheer, cos hes only as good as the player coming off.
We really need at least three new signings to see us through to jan window
Viera would be ok (i think),desperate for left cb,and i know our relationship with lfc is rumoured to be a bit strained at the mo...but davies would be gr8,and would love Harvey Elliot as well (both on loan of course)
Ffs ,let's get someone exciting, someone who'll get the south stand patrons off their seats ! Or at least someone who looks like they look like they actually enjoy playing for us !!!

4-1-2-3

.......................Ramsdale
Bogle/Baldock Egan New signing RND
...............Vieira hopefully
........Berge.............New signing
...............McG/Freeman
Brewster............Another striker

5-2-3/5-3-2 (McG dropping deep)

..........................Ramsdale
Baldock Basham Egan (New Signing) RND
.......................Vieira Berge
................Sharp McG Brewster

Need Norwood on the bench, slows us down with his lofty balls and his setpieces are cack, Fleck isn't justifying himself, and left side of defence needs freshening up, Robinson and Osborn aren't a good choice. Think we need 3 signings minimum to play 4 at the back, still need a CB if we play 5.

McGoldrick attacking midfield is just not good for the team overall, lacks the vision to get the assists and spends too much time on the ball leading to his only option being spannering it into the Kop, we need an actual CAM to play that role, Slav wants 5 signings and I'm here for it

Norwood needs dropping it’s been multiple seasons of slow play and wank crosses. Jebbison shouldn’t be loaned, we’ll need him this year, especially if we’re playing 3 upfront because with Mousset made of glass, Burke who can run and that’s it, and McGoldrick playing too deep I can’t see us scoring like last season.

RND is injured apparently, after last night Berge will have a target on his back, very, very easily bullied, Freeman not only did well when he came on but energised the whole midfield, Norwood even made a couple of sliding tackles.
Freeman has to start, Davies, Brewster, Mcburnie and yes any plan to loan Jebbison has to be scrapped, Mousse, Mcgoldrick,Sharp won't last a full season or 90 minutes every Saturday & midweek game

Verrips (until someone better qualified comes in)
Baldock
Egan
Davies
RND
Brunt
Osbourn
Berge
Mcburnie
Brewster
100m sprinter burke

can’t stand watching fleck and norwood constantly offering nothing to defence when they have ball which then results in hoofing it down line and wasting possession, bout time we brought some of the young ens through and give em a chance because they genuinely can’t be any worse at moment

lineup (1).png

Subs
Lopata
Baldock
Osborn
Fleck
Ayari
Tyler Smith
Jebbison

No sub GK on the bench.

Give the experienced pro's a reality check, and give the kids a look.

If nobody else is signed, I'd put out this team:

----------Verrips/Wes-------------

--Baldock--Egan--Davies--RND--

--------Berge-----Norwood-------

---Ndiaye---Brunt---Freeman-----

--------------Sharp-----------------

I think this is the formation Slav would want to play based on his Fulham team. It's also the formation/positions Berge and Freeman played in at Genk/QPR. I don't think Norwood has done much wrong, it's just there's no one in front of him to pass to - this has been a problem last season and this, a complete disconnect between midfield and the strikers. It means we're relying on two U23s - I don't know much about the U23 team, but from what others say, that's Brunt's natural position (one he does well in) and Ndiaye is supposedly very highly thought of. Maybe not too much pace on the wide positions, but plenty of creativity/trickery. Sharp has done enough that the position is his to lose, but having Brewster and McBurnie as back up isn't that bad (this formation/position is where they both played for Swansea and saw success at this level)

Why not try this Slav? Couldn't do any worse than the previous line ups. Good call.

Mmm are you sure Freeman played out wide with QPR? I only remember him playing fairly central..

In fact apart from injury issues while at Forest there was also grumblings about him not being happy being made to play out wide while on loan there.

One striker? We played 4 a couple of weeks ago, slavo is never going to be playing anything close, although I think playing two goalkeepers could help

I'm only going off the formations for the season before we signed him. According to those, he played on the left in a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3, or LW in a 4-4-2 and I saw a few where he played LCM in a 3-5-2. It was Eze that typically played in the no.10 role in that season.

But I didn't watch the matches so I don't know if that was the reality on the pitch, and I didn't check out the seasons before (or for Bristol)

Might be crazy, but I would want to see/try Brewster and Bogle on attacking (wingers or something like that). Bogle seemed to me so energic in cup game that would be nice to see how he does in league game.

I find it hard to select a starting XI. Can someone explain what position Brewster players? Striker, midfielder, winger, false 10. Same for Burge, holding mid, deffencive mid or false 10 / attacker. And much the same for McBambie? And there lays our problem hardly anyone knows what they're doing IMO so I can’t pick a sensible XI.Are our wingbacks wingback anymore or fullback midfield wingers? And as for CB’s stay back, go forwards?

Agree with you got to stick with Brewster and Mcburnie theyre proven in this division
People will say that sharp should start and i 100% agree with the reasoning behind it but he has said himself that he isn’t fully fit yet so i think you’ve got to play brewster and mcburnie and give them an actual chance of developing a partnership. Just got to keep putting the crosses in
