So we seem to be in two camps, those who think we’re guaranteed to go down, and those that have some optimism going into the season.

What are you thinking currently?

Let’s see what the consensus seems to be preseason, possibly to revisit at the end.

Vote away!

For the record I think we’ll survive but only just.

Put me in the "down, but if Ndiaye extends at least we have a chance" category

I’ll answer when transfer window shuts.

This is fair. For me we’re already getting a flavour of the kind of signings to be expected, so I’m positive. If Ndiaye stays I will be even more so.

As things stand: Safe, comfortably.

I predict a watered-down version of what we saw that first PL season under Wilder: written off, underestimated, never-say-die scrapping our way to midtable, with enough flair players sprinkled through the side to cause a few upsets along the way.

If Ndiaye signs an extension we'll stay up, it will lift the whole place, if he's running his contract down or leaves we go down.
Even if he runs his contract down- which is totally fair play- he'll give his all- he's that kind of kid- he's no mardy arse-

We stay up.

I'm not questioning his character at all, I just think that something in his mind when he's going in for a 40:60 tackle would tell him to pull out, if he was tied down and financially secure then that wouldn't be an issue.

There's always the question of getting injured in a challenge, but when you've been talking to potential new clubs about £multi million contracts it's got to play on your mind a bit. He's certainly no Lundstram though.

If everything goes the way Heckingbottom wants it to (keep squad together and add 4 or 5 as planned) then I am going for around 15th, which would be an incredible result.
I look at the Premier League next season as the teams split into 2 categories.
1. Man City, Arsenal, Man Utd, Newcastle, Chelsea, Brighton, Liverpool, Spurs, Aston Villa
2. Burnley, Luton, Wolves, C Palace, West Ham, Bournemouth, Everton, Brentford, Fulham, Forest.

We should aim to get 10-11 points from the first section (from 18 games). 2 wins, 4 draws, 12 defeats
And 30-32 points from the second category (20 games). 8 wins, 6 draws, 6 defeats.

If the squad isn't 100% where we want it to be then I fear bottom 6 all season and maybe just go down by a point or 2.

As Hecky said in his interview earlier this week though, there is still a lot of work to do with transfers before the end of August.

I’ve gone with relegated - bottom 3.

I think that’s the sensible starting point at this moment in time. But a lot of factors will affect where we finish.

I don’t think Ndiaye will break us if he leaves, but I think he can be a real difference in this side if he stays.

A lot will depend on the start we get. It’s not an easy start, but based on form towards the end of last season and changes, we could pick up some points in August. City is a free hit of course as they’re exceptional. But they will also be slow to start due to their late end of season finish.

The season will be a long one, but a good start will make a big difference, as well as picking up points at key times of the season when we have bigger runs of games

The biggest concern though is that whilst, on our day our team can match many premier league sides, but the squad is limited in depth (again)

We really need the likes of Berge and McBurnie in good early form and if wr can get a Brewster Boost then who knows…

I’ll keep to bottom 3 but I fully expect us to be a hard team to beat.

That’s about how I see it, too. Don’t think we’ll be worse than Luton but currently can’t see us staying up. That could change if we make some clever signings.

Think we will scrape up, maybe a dreaded last day situation, where we have to get one more point than Evertons cheque book..

Impossible to make any sort of prediction as things stand. The team isn't even complete yet and were don't know who will be in the squad come the first game of the season....
On the basis of who has arrived and the signings previously made by this management team I think we can make a prediction which would be not far from any predictions made in mid August

With no time to implement his ideas after Wilder‘s exit stage left,Hecky got a credible 3 wins from 11 games with a side that was on its arse.
That’s a win every 3.6 games, just a small improvement on that ratio will keep us in the Prem.
And that’s a right load of bollocks but I’m sticking to it.

I think there is enough spirit in the squad, and a sprinkling of talented players that could see us stay up.
I have never seen us pull off a “great escape” in all the years I have been watching the Blades; if there is a slim chance of relegation on that final day, we grasp it with both hands. Would love to survive by the skin of our teeth on the final day, if it goes to that.

Too early to say.

Bit more positive if Ndiaye is staying, gives us a punchers chance in a lot of games if we sign a strong LCB.

But teams don't stay up without a midfield. All of our fortunes will depend on what we do there.

Pointless question .
Ask when our transfer business is done.
A far more relevant question would be "Will Gary Sinclair utter a single legible word all season"?

I think we’re gonna have a great season and surprise a few of the moneybags.
Can’t wait until JLT clatters into Rice.

I don't think we've got a bad team at all, I just think we're out of our depth mixing it with the multimillionaires in this division. I can't think of 3 teams that we're worse than or that I'd rather have our squad over.

It will be interesting to see how we fair, but I'd say 2nd or 3rd bottom if I was a betting man.

It will be close but we will just survive. 3 points vs Palace and a draw at Forest will see us off to a good start.
