Wilder brings something special to club by being a Blade through and through. We seem to be the only club that he bring success to.
In today’s football is he the man to take the club forward long term time will tell.
He can play exciting football but also dour defensive game.
Think the problem during the Princes tenure he had to produce results on a low budget, Today you still feel this is going to not change.
He’s the Man of the time, but football is changing and all from top to bottom with the club need to adjust to this

It’s not a great look from the owners & makes us look a bit of a laughing stock to be honest.

From Wilders POV he comes in with nothing to lose & reassurances. Would that make him even more arrogant? Also is Wilder right long term?

It’s just all a bit odd & it probably shows how much they’re finding their feet/ out of depth they currently are in football.
where does all this rubbish about
re-appointing Wilder making us look a laughing stock come from?
Most football fans were baffled as to why we sacked him at all.
And we are a laughing stock NOW purely because of our results 😌

Yes Arblaster is dating his daughter - Martha. They were on holiday in New York together last week I think.
With that, it's easy to say that Wilder's NEVER left Bramall Lane, not whilst this is going on.
If he returns and the players start playing like Prime-Brazil-1970 version, you've been conned.
No manager will ever stand a chance that's not called Wilder, Christopher.

Wow, what a weird post!
What's really weird is taking back a manager for the possible third stint in charge who can not take United to the level these owners want to be.
He's failed everywhere since, why? Maybe the club's he managed wanted something more and from his first time success.
That's weird.
AIM HIGHER. You need a Manager who will have the time and experience to take United higher than just a yo-yo club.

Absolutely, spot on, bang on the mark 👏👏👏

If the results improve under Wilder then folk will be happy I guess. But presumably the owners discussed their vision on taking over and Wilder either disagreed with it or gave the wrong answers. Either way Wilder wasn't for them or vice versa. The re-appointment smacks of desperation on the owners part after they tried to run before they could walk and subsequently alienated the support. They will presumably have had to make concessions to Wilder which I would think will irk them. I cannot see them cutting him much slack. He will need to deliver and quickly. Failure and he will go the Selles way and this will undercut the pro Wilder sentiments of some supporters. For what it is worth I think most supporters wanted Selles gone but not everyone wanted Wilder back unless it was short term given the position we find ourselves in. I cannot see the owners (and some of the supporters) thinking that this is an ideal or long term solution.

The problem for Wilder will be that, in a very short time, the owners have cleared out many of his old faithfuls and better players. replacing them with players of dubious and unproven ability and attitude. This is what CW and AK will be confronted with on day one so the task of a quick turnaround may not be as easy as simply changing playing systems. I fully expect some of the old guard to "finally get the tools out of the garage" as some one put it ( I honestly think, looking at the performances, some of them helped to get Selles sacked ) but whether the new arrivals are good enough or willing enough to buy in to the Wilder system time will tell. Just my take and certainly not ITK.

Up the Blades

Because of the fact we sacked him & rehired him. You’ve answered the question within your response.

We’ve also made Wilders position stronger he knows we can’t be without him & Wilder will know they can’t sack him again for a while.

He shouldn’t have been sacked in the first place but by doing what we’ve done it’s made it all a bit odd & if I was an opposing fan I’d be laughing at our current situation. Wouldn’t you? = laughing stock

Why the need for a poll though, surely if we wish to become a more forward thinking club we just ask AI.

Or was it AI that helped choose Selles?

Just to make it clear... AI isn't a big box in the board room that people are asking questions and taking orders from. It's just a program on a computer to filter data.

If it’s Wilder coming in to fit within a revamped off pitch staff structure it might just about work although I’d still have concerns about this being a worrying power shift towards the dressing room.

If it’s Wilder coming back as a monolithic structure that completely dominates the club off the pitch then in all likelihood we’re just delaying the pain and potentially making it worse further down the line. As we’ve seen managerial terms in football are increasingly short even if a manager has success at some point in their tenure. In this environment it’s dangerous for the club to be in a position where the bottom drops out whenever Wilder leaves. If he’s coming back contingencies need to be put in place to ensure that isn’t the case next time round because it’s unrealistic to have to think at some point in the short or medium term the club won’t be without Wilder again.

On Porktalk, this poll (currently at 70.8% in favour) has just been reported as only 40% wanted him back, so they’re capable of rounding down as well as up when it suits.

Regardless of peoples opinion on Wilder & his "style of play" last year being "boring" - Factually, "boring" earned 92 points. 19 out of the last 25 seasons it would have got us promoted, or have won the league. Not often do 2 teams get 100 points...

Nor am I sure how ANYONE can say CW "threw it away with that week" - with a squad rotated and rebuilt so much in 1 summer we had NO divine right to even be in such a race/ spot. Granted, yes, it was a shame it didn't work out for us.

His first mission last year, after we were both underprepared for & then embarrassing in the Prem - was to refresh the squad & make us defensively strong & resilient - which he achieved wholeheartedly.

But, as much as people want football to "entertain" them, not many clubs are entertaining week-to-week for 90 minutes, the best clubs just produce results. Don't think Liverpool fans will be upset they only beat Burnley by a 93rd minute penalty weekend just gone, will they?!

Winning is the be all & end all, that's all that matters. Currently we are embarrassing and that's due to results under Selles.
