Broad spectrum this, mine personally was Deano before Leeds contaminated him, awesome striker.

Whitehouse for me too.
Great day at the Lane

Alan Kelly for me. Outstanding goalkeeper at a time when I was an aspiring goalkeeper myself. Dedicated club servant. Perfect professional. Gutted when he left.

Capable of some of the most ridiculous saves I'd ever seen.

I touched his glove once when he was signing autographs. I was mesmerised.

Tough one. Almost too tough. I will sleep on it. At the moment it's possibly Len Allchurch. Mmmmmm?

Alan Woodward, had everything including hardest shot, best crosser of a football, and best corner taker .... maybe 0.01 % off for his heading.

If he and TC had been Brazillian they`d have had nigh on 100 caps each and immortality in world football instead of the better parts of Sheffield

and he were a good bloke an` all.

Few of the United Players that weren;t your obvious Deane, Curry or Sharpe.

Mike Trusson - bought from Plymouth in the early 80's.

Remember at Nothampton ( When they had a cricket pitch). United were shite until 2 goals from M.T. in the last 2 minutes, one a bullet header and we won 2-1.

All Smiles just as you were waiting for the boos.

Billy Whitehurst - John Gannon - Chrissy Porter - Carl Asaba. Unsung hero's.

In my opinion anyways. Never gone with the Norm. But still a Blade.

Dane Whitehouse for me shortly followed by Deano. Loved watching them both as a kid but Dane wins for the reasons stated above. Could have moved and made more money but wasn't remotely interested, he was living out his dreams playing for the Blades. Top man and great player who I never thought got the accolades he deserved outside our club.

Deano was my first Blades hero, but Peter Ndlovu just edges it for all time favourite. Great tricks and often produced the unexpected, but also a really hardworking team player. Most entertaining individual I’ve seen at the Lane.

Another vote for Dane Whitehouse here. You don't really get many one club players, even the great TC and Brian Deane played for Leeds.
I'd like to think that most of us as fans would be like Dane in living out our dreams playing for the club we support and remaining loyal to them.
Oh, cracking player too.

Trevor Hockey for me. He was a great character and personality in addition to being a good footballer. He "entertained" the fans, not in the same way that TC or Woody entertained us, with their sublime skills, but just by being himself. The bandy-legged, pirate looking, little character that snapped at everyone's heels and never stopped running for 90 minutes. Never seen another one like him before or since and doubt we ever will.

The photo below reminds me of when we played Manchester United at Old Trafford in1971. We were top of the old First Division that day going into this match. (It's the one that's famous for "that" George Best goal btw):(.

The Stretford End were giving Hockey loads of stick, chanting, "Hockey's a werewolf". And this is how he responded...

Paul Devlin. First player I can really remember dribbling the ball. A skill I admire in a footballer

Carl Bradshaw - grafter, fully committed and hard. But also had a bit of talent as well.

Glynn Hodges - touch of class, player you knew would perform in big game/ moments. He had that edge where he could Change the games in a flash... could be a goal or a red card! Not without his downsides, lazy at times, but I loved watching him on the ball.

Don't know what happened there! Went to make a small edit to the post and have ended up quoting myself! How terribly vain!

As a kid Vas Borbokis , I'd never seen a full back as comfortable on the ball and skillful in a blades shirt. Present day I'd have to say Coutts due to the turnaround since he first arrived, the guy is a joy to watch.
