Dane Whitehouse and Alan Kelly, legends. Nice blokes with it as well.

Still have TC as the best...so close with Woody and the rest of that squad...but you are so right with Morris and the great McAllister!Whilst I've had the pleasure of seeing TC, Woody and others of that great era, the one player that left a lasting impression on me was a short, slight, unassuming man who helped Edwards to get many of his lower league goals and that player was Colin Morris
The other player I shall not forget was a very young man who had his career ruined by a certain Rodney Marsh and that was Tom McAllister. What a great keeper he was at such a tender age
Easy
Dean Hammond
Unseen work. I imagine that it's spectacular.
Yes I was at that game Jon we were awful and stole 3 points on our way to winning the 4th division ,just shows !! winning ugly sometimes on the way to gloryFew of the United Players that weren;t your obvious Deane, Curry or Sharpe.
Mike Trusson - bought from Plymouth in the early 80's.
Remember at Nothampton ( When they had a cricket pitch). United were shite until 2 goals from M.T. in the last 2 minutes, one a bullet header and we won 2-1.
All Smiles just as you were waiting for the boos.
Billy Whitehurst - John Gannon - Chrissy Porter - Carl Asaba. Unsung hero's.
In my opinion anyways. Never gone with the Norm. But still a Blade.
Colin Morris....
As a young lad he mesmerised me !! Probably the biggest influence on me being a blade.Absolutely loved the way he played.
Played 13 games for us but when was he the captain for us?The best I ever saw play was TC but my favourite would have to be George Richardson from 1921-24 because he is the only Blade I have a picture of on the wall captaining the side (and because he is my Grandad)
A bit left field this suggestion. We all know TC was the best by a mile, but seeing as we're talking about favourites, what about Billy Dearden? He used to run around till he dropped and got the nickname "Billy Three Lungs". He was also as brave as fuck and used to stick his head into situations that warranted a public health warning.
I'd give Morgan the runner up spot for similar reasons. These are the types of players that leave an imprint on your memories of going to the Lane.
Billy Dearden followed by Len Badger. Just loved watching Len very rarely had a off game. Billy was lightweight but he gave a lot of centre half’s a hard time. In one particular night game against Leeds he rose head and shoulders above Jackie Charlton and hit the bar with a thunderous header in the first few minutes. We won 3 0 that night.
