It’s funny cos it’s them lot but in all honesty this stinks. If it happened to us we’d be fuming and it’s a sad endictment on the loopholes in modern football. Leicester should be reported if they sign him in the next year or 2 for an ‘undisclosed fee’.

That being said Chansiri was very naive and stupid to reject 7 figure bids in January. Only has himself to blame.

I don't think so. I get the impression that young Hirst is/was advised by elder Hirst, and that elder Hirst is eager for his son to maximise his earning potential at every stage of his career, due to the transient and fickle nature of football. I understood that after a bright start to his career at youth level for Wednesday and for England u20's at Toulon, and having an inkling of what similar aged players were being paid at prem clubs & knowing what the 1st teamers were on at Wednesday, it was suggested that Hirst jnr was worth £5k a week and deserving of a place on the bench. Hirst snr was probably correct. I understood the relationship soured from that point onwards......

The implication in the comments seems to be that he was just breaking into the first team. They offered him a new contract. He turned it down, and instead of negotiating they got mardy and said "fine, you're frozen out until you sign the contract", so he duly fucked off.

No idea how much of that is true (I don't give enough fucks about them to read their forum), but if true, they made their own bed and are now lying in it.
 
What's all the fuss about? It's within the rules so that's it. Someone's agreed to it or UEFA wouldn't have set the rule. The retards are wholly at fault, even United had the nous to secure Brooks before flogging him. So, as others have said, fuck 'em.
 
The way Wendy currently run their football club borders on farcical

A foreign owner, a foreign CEO and a foreign manager sums it all up

As for Hirst, he probably realised long ago, that he was dealing with a bunch of amateurs at the top and decided getting away was his best option

I, like others don't agree with the way Leicester have bent the rules, but as for Wendy themselves, imo they deserve all they get

Demanding huge wages having never kicked a ball. His so called legend dad helping to screw the club that idolised him over.

The pigs did well by letting him rot and not chucking stupid money at him (not that they’ve got It) at least they stuck to their guns instead of being held to ransom by a modern footballer - Should happen more often with a happier ending imo.

Feel abit sorry for them on this one and I’d be fuming it it was us with Brooks.

Yeah i thought it was something like that, didn't David Hirst get booted out or quit as a coach as well because of it?

If true then its all very understandable if George Hirst wanted a move to Leicester

But as I mentioned above we had the sense to pre-empt this by tying Brooks down with a pro contract. They didn't and suffered the consequences through their own pig-headedness. What folk haven't considered though is that where Chansiri comes from, saving face is more important than a wad of ££'s. So whilst people here think he's a dick, he's probably getting plaudits in his own country for taking the action he did.

They haven't "produced" any players from their academy. Hirst was only there because of his father's name and the a Wendy association.

Their record of bringing through youth to their first team is appalling.

No academy
No class.

Yeah, once the neg's broke down, they definitely froze him out.

I fully expect that he's currently getting his £5k a week, even though he's only 19 and he's playing in front of 6,749 in the Belgian 2nd division. In some respects, for the money involved, I wished we'd run the deal through our Belgian club. :D

If this happened to us we’d be outraged. I do have a bit of sympathy but it’s their chairman’s fault in a sense for not accepting the January bids when he was clearly off.
 
I don't have shred of sympathy for them. If their wonderful owner had done this to another club to get a player on the cheap they would applauding him for it. Unluckily for them, and hilariously for us however, he seems more intent on shafting his own punters than he does in applying his tremendous business acumen to getting a player at a reasonable price.

Howewer, we would have been righteously pissed off if Brooke s had gome to Bourmnemouth via their training club in Azerbijan for two and threpunnce.

Chanseri employed Doyen Sports to oversee all recruitment aspects at the Sty when he took charge. That’s why the managers at any one time haven’t much of a clue who’s coming or going. Chanseri seems to trust this firm with his investment but they are the player agents of George Hirst and seem to have whisked him away from under his nose. You couldn’t make it up really. Chuckle

I think Doyen were the agents for a few players that they "advised" the pigs to buy for inflated prices. It's called a "conflict of interests", but Chancer, with his great business mind, didn't seem to notice that.
 
It all underlines the importance of a contract, some say they don't matter anymore because they can just be walked away from, and to some extent they're right. But the one way to obtain the best price for a player is to make sure he's on a good contract.

It is true, but will they actually implement it or will "it punish the fans" so to speak.

Just hope Utd never break them otherwise it will be Ramsbottom United here we come in the Evo-Stik Premier league.
