Would you be happy helping Wednesday out?

So it is a loan? Just asking to confirm.....no freebies, no undetermined dates when the money is to be repaid, strict conditions that need the whip hand of the EFL to validate, then ensure, the obligation is upheld.

And there's the rub. The EFL is, at best, useless. At worst corrupt. They've proved with Wednesday's 'financial sustainability' that they'll prevaricate and delay, hoping it'll go away.

United have 'played by the rules' down the years, have suffered long spells in the lower divisions and endured taunts of 'pub league' from the pig fans. Wednesday?

Clubs need to realise that, without serious investment (Wolves & Leicester), they're like drunks in a casino. Success begins and ends with a good management team (and that includes having full control over who is bought and sold).

Wednesday have gambled and lost. Fuck 'em.

I believe Chansiri is one of the richest men in football and I don't think he needs financial help, what he needs is better financial management from within their own walls.

I'd treat them the same way that they'd treat us, gi'em nowt.

To quote Edward Heath, " lame ducks to the wall" LOL

Seems like most people on this thread have already forgotten championship clubs get a big chunk of premier league cash as it is.

Tin hat time. Yeah, I'd be for helping them out. Wasn't it in WW2 that Spurs helped Arsenal out - that's why The Gooners always have some Spurs blue on their kit. Money is too concentrated in the PL and it's not good for the average football fan of the average football club - it'd be good if this cluster-fuck actually helped balance that out a bit.

Not that I'd hold much hope that the Wendy would have enough class to incorporate Blades red into their kit in recognition.

I honestly do not see why it's the Premier leagues job to bail out the Championship and lower.

Of course I get that the top level football gets a lions share of the revenues but there's a reason for that and it's shouldn't be a case of successful business' having to bail out poorly run ones who are getting dragged down by a wage bill which has been poorly managed. I can see where a possible case could be made for general running costs, excluding wage bills, as a "football family" initiative, but surely all football clubs at all levels have access to the business loans and other support mechanisms available to them via the government?

I'd be ok with this, as long as it's to pay for the support staff (ie closest thing to the playing side? The groundsmen.) And maintenance that sort of thing.

Let the cunts go out of business!

Unfortunately we can't pick and choose who gets help, so they'll get their cut of any EFL help from the Premier League. I'd like it to be paid back, we are competing against those Championship clubs after all.
They don't have a very good record paying money back that they owe.Ask the Co-oP .LET THEM ROT.

There’s far too much money in football, not least the PL, and the sustainability of football clubs in the EFL has been an issue for years. As Wilder said in his recent Staton/Giddings interview, plenty of clubs have been spending ridiculous amounts in the lower divisions and something needs to happen to address it – be it wage caps, more severe (and speedier) FFP or other mechanisms. I don’t think clubs that are serial offenders of spending beyond their means should be bailed out simply to allow them to continue the same practices. If large sums of cash are going to come their way, there needs to be reform towards sustainability as a result.

Well said mate. They spend money as if it was going out of fashion then when they hit the buffers they want bailing out. There is a system in place to help stop clubs getting in trouble but the pigs have tried their best to by pass it but they have been found out.Yet when you talk to their fans they still want them to spend stupid money which they have not got.Brainless.

Maintenance... at The Sty... I’m not sure that even the Premier League has pockets that deep..

Note to self to go and get some shares bought in Hammerite. Mind you Does anyone know if they do ‘Faded and washed out pig blue’ in their colour range?

Pigs won't need any financial help they're massive remember!

Would we then feel obliged to bail them out the next time? Then the next time?
I would happily help Bury out - but then I've always liked their strip.

Haven't they gone bust & been wound up yet? If not, why not?
What was the question again?

Ensure it's any club within leagues one and two, as well as those clubs not losing money already in the championship. We shouldn't be funding clubs who overspend.
