Are we including caretakers? If so, Chris Morgan eclipses all the rest put together.

Comfortably the worst manager / coach ever, in the history of the game, anywhere.

What’s your football philosophy, Chris? “Nowt Fancy, like Bassett”

No wonder football has decided the two of them are incompatible and decided to end their relationship.

Only one person mentioned Heath.
That makes me sad

Picture that list as being like a really shit buffet. You've gorged yourself on the utter shite that was Adams, Weir, Robson and Adkins. By the time you've got to Heath, you've had all the shit you can take.

Clough is also up there given he got us into the playoffs and repaired the Weir damage

Only in terms of league position.

He did far more damage than Weir in terms of fimances.

Morgan was a rubbish manager, no denying it.

To say he's worse than some of the names on here, and then to say he's worse than all of them combined is possibly the stupidest thing you've ever said, and there's some competition for that accolade.

During both of Morgan's stints as caretaker, he managed a better win ratio than both David Weir and Micky Adams.

Morgan and Montgomery are our longest serving players in the last 2 decades; isn't it coincidental that they're also your 2 favourite whipping boys?

"During both of Morgan's stints as caretaker, he managed a better win ratio than both David Weir and Micky Adams."

That's not going to be a great selling point on his cv though.

Gary Speeds record wasn't great either.

As you say, plenty of competition....

A caretaker doesn't buy or sell players and is only appointed after someone's failure so it's unfair to include them.
Of course Pinchy doesn't give a shit about fairness when there's one of hobby horses to put the boot into.

Depends how far back we want to go, I think Harry Haslam and Martin Peters have to be up there with Bryan Robson. Absolutely awful days for us.
Billy McEwan also, although to be fair he was a patsy working with both hands and legs tied behind his back

I included Wilson just in case, I didn't expect him to get any votes.

Clough didn't have a shit squad and he didn't do alright either. He had a decent squad, and an eye-watering budget (relative to the division) to add to it. He wasted loads of money and left us worse than when he started, in terms of personnel.

Thinking of it yeah It was the cup run I remember, I agree with you on Clough

Fortunately, I'm not trying to sell his CV.

I'm just trying to prove that he wasn't a worse manager than the other 8 combined.

That'd be a Data Protection issue.

Adams never had a chance, not just due to the job being to big for him.

Robson
Blackwell
Madkins

For me.

That's the great thing about this thread: there's something for everyone.

If you're a slasher, you can stick the boot in on your least favourite manager.

If you're a clapper, you can defend a manager who you think is getting a hard time from other posters.

If you're a forum contrarian, you can resume your vendetta against one of the club's greatest servants of the last 20 years.

I'd agree with that. I'd maybe swap Adkins for Weir personally, but you could make gpod arguments for both.

Spoilt for choice really, aren't we?

Putting the boot in on Morgs also
ticks the superior sniding at the Bladey Blades. You may recall how he explained to his public how dreadful a decision appointing Wilder was.

Robson for me

Clueless appalling, manager who for some reason McCabe's head was so far up Robson's arse
The cringe worthy ' greatest Robbo moments' in the programme was unbelievable and had absolutely f all to do with us , certainly lost our identity then with a shit pissed manager and massively overpaid (mainly) shit players who didn't give a toss

that ethos stayed at the club to a certain extent until sir CW walked in the door

Thank you again CW!
