Nick Blackman had a dip from 35 yards earlier than ended up sailing aimlessly in to Row Z of the kop relatively early on, when he had 2 players either side of him better placed to make a run. He seems to do this at least once a game, and the result is always the same. Just think that it is a waste, and smacks of being a billy big bollocks.
well at least he had the balls to take a shot :)

i'm afraid i have to agree with brownie.. that was relegation form.. let's face it, we have been crap all year.. i've written off the playoffs.. auto fucking forget it.. i'm now considering whether to renew..

DW is in trouble listening to some of the rumblings on the kop.. people were fucking livid

it's a strange relationship with Wilson.. my analogy would be like being friends with the ex girlfriend!!

losing is one thing but he needs to kick some ass because the one thing the fans at the lane will not accept is a lack of passion and desire to win. the only guys that looked vaguely interested were kmac, tonymac and danny H. the rest were frankly awful

Never ceases to amaze me the loyalty of the fans or is it just that the fans over the years have been dumbed down and now happily accept any old shite that SUFC serve up. Jeez I know we have never been world beaters in my lifetime the last time we were in the top six was in the 70's FFS, Even in 1980 when we hit rock bottom there was still some hope .............................................. this shower of shit are just as hopeless as Heath's team only difference is this team is at a lower level than Heath's lot and we now have a massive debt with zero chance of that changing any time soon. The club is a fucking disgrace to the name of Sheffield United.
The players truly are a disgrace. Astounding that maguire and kmac are seen as special players. FFS maguire is an overweight inexperienced boy, not a great footballer.

so on one hand he needs to change the way we play from a passing game ,or we bring in Sean Odriscoll - genius. 95% were happy and would have picked the side he picked yesterday ,the players let us , him and themselves down terribly ,and i reckon they will know about it too.

agree sitters.. that is the tema i would have picked.. on paper it should have been enough to win.. but it isn't and the attitude is completely wrong.. that has to be the managers responsibility??

I just want to know where all these intelligent football experts were 12 months ago....

Harry - overweight inexperienced boy, but presumably if we flogged him it'd be Armageddon (part 765)
Tactics - nobody in the premier league plays 4-4-2
Huddle - Yeovil beat us with a huddle
KMac - can't and won't shoot
Folded arms - nobody wants a foldy armed manager, we need a wavey armed manager

Even 2 months ago people were complaining during our unbeaten run

I know, imagine if we stopped winning.. oh hang on!

Absolutely it's the managers responsibility. And the Wilson model has rarely failed to get a result this season, not always in the attractive football template, but results all the same.

What I think that needs addressing is Hartlepool, Yeovil and Brentford we've been carved open and they've managed to stop our game completely. It sounds like yesterday we were outplayed and dominated, forget the league positions, the same happened at Brentford.

Are we doing our homework? Are we too arrogant? Many questions, but teams are now coming to the lane and having a go at us. They are not scared of us. I remember the game big win v Bournemouth earlier this season, we played an expansive game but we showed our frailties. So we set about a no lose strategy. Probably because we don't have a great number of goals in the team.

I said at the start of the season that we replaced Ched, a 35 goal striker with 6 x 5 goal strikers. We need more discipline, better shape and play not to concede

Cant always be the case ,dont know what you do but if you have a shit day at work is it always your bosses fault ? If playing a team halfway down the league ,a chance of going top ,getting paid excellent money in front of 20k people isnt motivation enough ,then some of them are beyond help ,it was a collective non turn out yesterday ,because some thought they just needed to turn up and that is very difficult for a manager to turn round. His judgement should be on what he does with those players before Notts County.

Yep, in January we've won one, drawn one, lost one. Lets find the negatives!

I am lost, what league game have we won in January? I know you mean Oxford but I don't think any of us really care about that.

After losing our last home game against the worst team statistically in all divsions I was kind of hoping for a response from the team yesterday

You can look for all the positives you want, are you still flying over for the same amount of games as normal as I think I have seen a post of you not being there yesterday. We have to be honest, You can count on a couple of fingers good home performances this season and now teams are starting to make us pay. Sooner or later they might work us out away from home.

Hang on, so this is moving to the County game? Shouldn't yesterday be a response to the Hartlepool game. When are we going to stop moving the chains.

so you only give a shit when we lose ,why doesnt that surprise me.

As you don't know me I would imagine it might. I give a shit about getting out of this league and if we can't win we give it a damn good try, that's the Blades way.

We have been shit for most of the year Sitters and you know that.

Exactly, nothing is won in January, it's won over the season of 46 games. So the current run back to Crawley/ tranmere should be looked at overall. Not entirely impressive I agree, but over the season to date we sit just 6 points off top, Boxing Day we were top.

I will again stress that I am not saying that all is rosey and of all the games I've seen this season we've not dominated a game, but we've got a generally effective approach.

I've been to a few games over Christmas and fair play I'm not there every week, so I'm always cautious to debate details and make assumptions of games I miss. I debate on what I see. I never hide from this fact. But I am able to relate to some things that are recurring themes - like tactics, playing players in same positions etc. one thing with Wilson is that his approach is consistent.

I'm not saying sacking Wilson is the answer but it did work for the grunters last year! Although I'm no great fan someone like Billy Davies would get us promoted without a problem!

Playing for draws away from home and constant time wasting tatics - not that twat never steps into The Lane EVER

I think the next United manager will be Morgan. From what people I know at the club have told me he is building a good reputation for himself with the reserves/u21 and knows how to make adjustments during games. Fancy that! There are some people at the club who think Morgan will be better at bringing kids through.

what adjustments would you have made yesterday ,given the players available ?

There were many, many people that thought Blackwell would make a better manager than Warnock

Be careful what you wish for...

Main problem - who replaces him? We all thought mid-table, play-offs at best this season anyway. People saying we 'should' walk the league based only on stature etc and all this kind of thing. We were doing well, then injuries to 2 starting 11 one game, then another of the starting 11 a few games later, and as people have said young goalies will make mistakes. Losing Matt Hill for me is a big loss, I know he isn't tactically great but I feel he always one of our most committed, whole-hearted players. Mixture of bad luck and a false dawn (we haven't played well, consistently, all season, despite lead up to the new year) leaves us right where we thought we would be. Still depressing as hell but we've been expecting it a long time.

SOD and he's availab;e and free

And sheffielder which kids has Danny failed to bring through...

I don't wish for Danny and I never wished for Blackwell even in his 1st season as caretaker. The man has always been a bully type manager

In regards to the kids, Whitehouse I hope would have been in and around the team all year bar the injury. Maybe Ironside could have been brought on sooner. I more talking for the future and bringing them through. Wilson even in the early days never really endorsed George Long, it almost felt it was like gritted teeth he had to play him (all in my opinion of course)

And he was right ,George isnt ready for a long term stint yet at this level ,neither are Ironside or Whitehouse ,they have to be introduced gradually. I notice everyone seems to think Harry is fair game now ,some even calling him big time ffs. Anyway how would you have changed things yesterday ? again.

Ok so he's proven that he can bring kids through, just a bit slower than you would like and through gritted teeth. But he's done it with Kennedy, Ironside, philiskirk, mcalistair, tonne, whiteside, long, macfadzean and even 17 year old Diego have had a run out after spells in the development team.

Have any of them failed because of the delay in coming through?

Yep, in January we've won one, drawn one, lost one. Lets find the negatives!

Two ways of looking at it though. We've lost our last two home matches badly - Well beaten by the bottom of the league and then played off the park by a mid-table side. We beat a mid table fourth tier side and were a (admittedly great) late rally away from being soundly beaten by promotion rivals at Donny. We've gone from top at Christmas to six points adrift of the top two, and Tranmere's much predicted collapse has conspicuously failed to arrive. In fact, they've won their last four whilst we've only won one of ours.

It's not all doom and gloom but we need to turn it around but quick.

Yep I managed to find the stats to suit my argument :)

I'm not arguing with your assessment as such, just pointing out that the same stats can be used to show that we're utterly rubbish. As I said, more than one way of looking at it.

Now I am not saying any of these players should play or not but there is a chance some of them wouldn't be doing any worse than what we are seeing.

Tonne - When did he play?
Ironside - Had a good preseason and deserved a chance. Probably in the ilk of Porker hic, yet we bring in Kitson when the right wing is desperate. Couple of cameo appearances yet not considered to have a start even against Oxford.
Kennedy - 1 game due to injuries and suspensions. Won't see another game this season unless we lose the back 4 again.
McFadzean - not seen a minutes league action yet with a bit of an attitude adjustment apaprently would be.
Philliskirk - Not seen him in a league game.
Diego - playing in development team probably because we can't fill the team.
Long - Only playing because of injury to starter.
Harry - Was brought into the team before Danny got here.
McAllister - Only player who has played any amount of games, now gone. 23 I think so not exactly a kid.

Danny brought on Ironside yesterday to play alongside Kitson and then Cresswell. All similar type players yet we probably not even got a decent cross in all game.

Maybe I am overreacting, maybe I am just proper ****** off but this season is heading for a car crash with no driver at the wheel when we could have used it to bring some kids through and come strong again next year. maybe there isn't much other people would have done differently to Danny but for gods sake make your team fight

arrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhh

I usually don't reply to any post, I just usually read and have a laugh!!!!. The immortal Dave Bassett once said that anybody that phones into radio programmes are just anoraks I think we have to add fans forums to that. The great Brian Clough once said that he can only control things up to a player crossing the touch line after that its the players responsibility. We had all the players that came onto that pitch yesterday that didn't perform!!! get of the coaching staff back and start and put the blame to were it belongs.
