I fully agree Yeovil were the better team and we don't have a divine right to beat them. Thought that I'd say that first before I said that Yeovil are my 'second' team and have been for a while :) doesn't mean I wanted them to win today though ;)

In my considered opinion you really need to...

I agree it's disgraceful to lose as many games that we have at home

Again the Blades have succeeded in spoiling the weekend.
I sometimes wish I could get football completely out of my life a lot of old blades have but alas I can't.
I'm not sure whether Wilson should be shown the door but it's for certain at the moment he hasn't got a clue how he wants us to play and I for one haven't either.
I don't think we would have scored if we would have played till midnight going forward we look inept.
There were to many players out there today not committed McDonald,Kitson,Blackman others just bad Williams,Flynn,Doyle, and dare I say it McGuire it's early yet but the new lads looked poor.
Wilson needs to motivate and some how get it organised if not we could drift into the dark days of the late seventies early eighties.

Why sack him now? we have no money, no wage budget left and to many injuries. I do wonder why no team who has sacked a manager lately has come in for Wilson though. Not happy about what is happening and actually can see us not making the playoffs. Yes other sides did well after sacking the manager last season but K Mc isn't the best at choosing managers is he. Grin and bare it we we are going to fall away and finish as an also ran shit happens.

I BLAME THIS BITCH!!!!!

Pg-24-diary-rex.jpg

Does she have a council flat.

No mate she was someone who had balls and could motivate and inspire. Left to all the other wet bastards the bloody Argies would be ensconced in the Falklands, we would be part of the sodding Euro, our industrial relations would have made the 70's look like a picnic and we really would be a laughing stock. The right person at the right time and she went at the right time too.

Blair and Brown were arses by comparison and we are in a sodding mess because of it. Mind I don't think she is the greatest team player but a legend of a leader.

I see you have a nice boat.

The Wilson 2nd season syndrome is well and truly kicking in ....................... will McCabe have the balls to do the right thing and get rid ?

I was there today... Higginbotham, McMahon, Doyle and McDonald were the only ones who actually looked as though they tried! (Maybe not McMahon for the first goal)
In my honest opinion I think Wilson should atleast have one more chance, I say win the next 3 games (ESPECIALLY LOOKING AS IF WE DESERVE IT!)
I think our team IS good enough if it actually plays like Wilson wanted last year.... And thats the part I don't get.... He changed the playing style because we lost Williamson, Quinn, Lowton, Ched etc. But surely the players we have are capable of doing it too! This is of course the man who changed Ched into a clinical striker!

Today wasn't acceptable at all and I really hope McCabe warns Wilson of his position!

One other pertinent point, and something i picked up on.

Nick Blackman had a dip from 35 yards earlier than ended up sailing aimlessly in to Row Z of the kop relatively early on, when he had 2 players either side of him better placed to make a run. He seems to do this at least once a game, and the result is always the same. Just think that it is a waste, and smacks of being a billy big bollocks.

If you take away his penalties, his goalscoring record is not great either.

If only a few other players had the bollocks to go towards goal. Give me Blackman (he was wank today) being selfish over the others repeatedly wafting the ball around into comfortable positions any day.

Let's stick to the point here. We came out in the 1st half shit and even worse in the 2nd half. That is not good enough for me. With 15 minutes to go we still were playing 442 and with 6 minutes to go we still had back 4 when I left. We have the players, we need someone to stick a rocket up their asses and I am sorry to say it's not Danny. My mind changed on him today

So what we are saying is that a squad with an average age of 24 is inconsistent.

Who'd have thunked it?

It's not consistency for me. We've been poor the majority of the season and our position surprises me. We don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater, but more of the same will not get us promoted.

For me, today was about motivation and tactice, or the lack of both.

I think the squad has gone under a massive change since last season, and to be in the playoffs at this stage given the drastic reduction of our average age is pretty promising.

I would echo that Wilson baffles me sometimes with his decisions however lets judge a managers ability at the end of the season, not just after a defeat.

Yep, I largely agree. But moving away from hoof was supposedly a new age where we'd be entertained no matter what the result. I always knew this bit was shite - and my boredom during most of this season confirms it. Our style of football is dull as ditchwater.

The older Blades among us have seen it all before the younger lads who thought that mid table of the championship was as low as it gets are now getting the drift of the humiliations suffered between 1976-88 feels.

The last two home games have brought dark days back.

It won't be long if things carry on like this we will be down to gates of 12,000 in no time.

The fact is Wilson is not a leader or a motivator and has not stuck by guns to play passing football at the moment he seems clueless in every respect of the job.
To sack at this stage Im not sure but as said in another post WE ARE in false position and I've been to every home game and come out satisfied twice Bournmouth and Stevenage.
So Mr Mcabe over to you

Well if we were to make a change now, who is available and who would come - De Matteo, Hughes, Curbishley, Souness, O'Driscoll (Blackpool frontrunner)?

I don't think McCabe will get rid of Wilson not least because it will cost money we don't have. However it does seem Wilson cannot motivate his teams - and that is worrying.

None of those managers listed would come unless we had lots of money to pay them and lots to spend on new players. Souness and Hughes are dogshit anyway.

What a shit storm a couple of bad results can create. It's a good job supporters aren't the ones getting paid to manage.....top six with almost half the season to go PANIC!

Today was shit but its not like we're not used to disappointment is it? I accept there are problems to be addressed but sacking a manager that still has a realistic chance of taking us up is the daftest suggestion I've read on here tonight, slightly ahead of bringing Warnock back!

Issue today and against Hartlepool? Certain players (one or two being fan favourites) are too comfortable and don't like being taken out of their comfort zone by hard working teams and a bad pitch. Need to toughen up mentally. The only thing the manager can be blamed for is not drumming this into said players.

Whilst I agree that it's not time to change the manager, I feel he can be blamed for much more.

The way we build up attacks is by design. Endlessly aiming for the wings, cutting back, switching it across field and back - it has to be the managers instruction.

It's definitely not a style of football that I'd want to watch long term, and we can only hope given a different set of players we'd do it differently.

If we get promoted (I'm doubtful) this team would need completely dismantling. Too few athletes, lack of pace, and too many who are not remotely versatile enough. This isn't knee jerk - I've been feeling it for ages and I'm amazed we've got the results we have so far.

I dread to think what'll happen if we go on a bad run, say like villa, and lose say 4or5 on the bounce. We all know the squad lacks depth, we all know the team is no were near as good as last year, we all know were not playing fluent football we all like to see, at times like these we all have to hold our breath to cool our porridge, I fuckin hate seeing my team not beating teams, like the last two at home. But i know like 90% of the blades on these pages that we have never been world beaters but we need to get behind our team, because in 5-10-15-20+years we as blades will still be at the lane following united wilson and macabe might not be there but we still will be. After days like today its tough being a blade but i would'nt have it any other way. Being a blade not playing shite. As always UTB.

Never ceases to amaze me the loyalty of the fans or is it just that the fans over the years have been dumbed down and now happily accept any old shite that SUFC serve up. Jeez I know we have never been world beaters in my lifetime the last time we were in the top six was in the 70's FFS, Even in 1980 when we hit rock bottom there was still some hope .............................................. this shower of shit are just as hopeless as Heath's team only difference is this team is at a lower level than Heath's lot and we now have a massive debt with zero chance of that changing any time soon. The club is a fucking disgrace to the name of Sheffield United.

But when you see him attempt it time after time with the same result of it usually ending up high and wide it gets frustrating. I am starting to think that he is a player who thinks that he is better than he is.

I'm no football tactician so not qualified to comment on Wilson's ability or lack of. I felt let down yesterday and disappointed that the club managed to attract a 20,000 crowd and the players just didn't turn up. From now on gates will drop drastically. It's difficult not to compare and evaluate United with our local rivals, Wednesday now on the up turn, Barnsley winning against Leeds and Donny in a promotion place. Unless we go up this season our support will diminish drastically with a core 12/13,000 for the forseable future. I've been going since the 1960's and still remember the dark days of the late 1970's to late 1980's.
