That is it for me and Wilson. Negative, sterile, painful. Complete and utter outrage that team and performance. Just stick Dmac in midfield. Yes he's hopeless but cannot be that one injury to Kmac destroys any creativity.

Afraid to say we have another shit manager. SUFC has no future if that is all we can manage in the pub league.

The Wilson out campaign starts here folks - watch this space.

a bit of a knee jerk reaction, but there's an element of truth in this.. DW's tactical conservatism is starting to worry me

I think playing Flynn was an attempt to replace McDonald with the most constructive available ball player Wilson could find in the squad. As Flynn had a hand in both goals from that position in our last home match I think it was worth trying. But this was then compensated/balanced/ruined by playing a defender in left midfield, and I see dropping Westlake for McMahon as another defensive move.

I thought Wilson called it completely wrong today. Midfield were abysmal

Williams is an awful player, Flynn too lightweight, Doyle ineffective, Blackmans delivery was shocking. Tranmere looked poor.

The worst decision Wilson made today was dropping Westlake in favour of McMahon. He offers absolutely nothing. There was a point in the second half where he had the ball in our half and there was acres of space for him to run forwards in to. He strolled to just past the half way line, stopped and looked like he couldn't decide whether to take it down the line, pass it or just stand there and panic. I think what he ended up doing was closing his eyes and trying to cross it from around five yards past the half way line. Needless to say, this resulted in nothing good.

McDonald being out was always going to leave us short on players making space and looking for the ball and removed the usual outlet for the centre backs. Why would we choose Hill and McMahon at full back instead of Westlake and Williams who both like to get into space and take the ball forward?

I can understand playing Williams away from home against tough oppo. He gives you that defensive backup and can fill in at LB should we need 5 across the back. At home, even against top of table we should be more adventurous and play "as normal".

Blackman for me was the biggest disappointment. We need him on the left, crossing with his right foot is absoluteley pointless. He wasn't able to cut inside today as their LB got wise to it almost immediately. Blackman seems to like the flair and yesterday he needed grit and determination.

As Latters says above. McMahon for me was poor too. Westlake has done extremely well. Maybe he wanted a bit of experience, i'm not sure. For me recently McMahon gets involved in too many arguments then when the ball is played to him he kind of puts his foot on it, takes two steps back then runs up and "takes a free-kick," when players close him down quickly he soils himself.

good points matt.. agree entirely.. another thing he never does is make himself available for long when he gets the ball.. lowton was superb at this.. maybe it is a tactic i don't know .. he always keeps in line with the back four even if there are acres of space in front of him.. i suppose he's what you'd call an 'old fashioned fullback'
dunno if anyone watched the 'mourinho' program (really good watch btw).. in one of the pieces there was a board behind him and the no.1 point was 'always attack space'..

Wilson is a coward, the team he put out was one with the idea of not losing rather than a team to win the game, face it guys we are not going anywhere with Wilson in charge.

He made a poor choice playing Flynn in the middle, but that's because he's not up to it, not because it was a defensive move. The more defensive option would be to play McAllister from the off, who's also not up to it.
Whilst Wilson is too cautious for me, overall yesterday said more about the threadbare nature of our squad that it did about Wilson tactically.

Maybe you should have a look at the league table...

Maybe you should have a look at the league table...

All he will see is a league full of absolutely shit teams and a league that we are not top of.

I'm sure some will accuse me of sounding like a pig, but just look at the division we are in. Teams like Stevenage and Crawley. A team of our stature should not be scratting about being considered equal to shit like this. The only time we should encounter them is if it is their big day out in the cup.

We should win this league, not just because we are a bigger club, but because as a bigger club we should have better resources at our disposal. I like Wilson and the last thing I want is him to leave. He just needs some backing but anything other than league winners is failure in my eyes.

As disappointed as I was with the team selection, at the end of the day our choices are pretty limited. Its hardly panic stations just yet! We're still in the top 3 and kept a clean sheet against the highest scorers in the league. There is no denying it wasn't a great performance but we still got something.

KEEP THE FAITH

Behave yourself. It's not wilson's fault we have no feckin midfielders. People are deluded. Just look at Blackburn, everybody thought they had a good team but a crap manager. Now they have a crap team, with an even crapper manager. There's only one person who can get us promotion, and it ain't the manager. If we don't sign at least 2 or 3 new players in January, we may as well give up and sell the lot (not that there's much left to sell). start again and settle into mid table, if we're lucky. We've been hanging on all season, always 1 injury or suspension away from having a team that can't beat anybody. Strange way to run a club supposedly trying to win promotion.

Maybe you should try and tell me what Tranmere's wage bill is.

I am well aware of the league table and that we are not top of this division with all the advantages we have is an outrage. - but then again we have a clueless manager who thinks Hill and Williams should play on left side in tandem.

Agree that we have been hanging on all season and agree that McCabe is the culprit but Saturday was beyond the pale. If we are to be in this pub league we have to be playing attractive football with a team full of hard working kids - and playing winning football. Anything less is huge failure for me.

Well it's certainly disappointing that we have players out of position all over the shop (Flynn, Williams), as opposed to replacements from the youth set up in their rightful positions.

Unfortunately the truth is probably that the replacements are not (in Wilson's opinion) good enough
