So I’ve seen a few threads on here about whether should spend now to try stay up or save for next season etc etc

But the issue is we don’t get our first choice targets and will we even be spending in the Championship. I get it won’t be the same figures but if I was CW I’d still be wanting some money to buy a replacement for Lunny!

Think that will play a huge part in whether he sticks around or not.

Depending on performances for the rest of the season, the board may not want him to stick around. I dont think CW will be in a position to make big demands financiay to the bored considering g thr money wasted on players in terms of value for money since promotion

Got a feeling that most Championship clubs will be totally skint after a season and a half of empty stadiums.

Whereas we'll have parachute payments. So I would expect us to have spending power at the Championship level. Should we be there, which I hope we're not.

Anyway, spending loads of money didn't matter when we rose up from League One to the Prem, so it might not matter now

bogle and brewster will come in to their own next season its midfield where we need to spend at least 2 good quality championship players needed

I think we will spend more than most, but not as much as fans or manager would want. Any outcome has to involve a net reduction in the wage bill.

The club will be convinced it pushed the boat out on quality for the last two years and that will be enough to convince it that we don't need any

It's pushed the boat out. The quality bit is arguable.

Don't think we need much for a championship contending sqaud if it stays together. I'd say only the midfield needs depth and a Lunny replacement and a new Duffy type player

Have you seen how badly Freeman is doing at Forest. Think Wilder needs to get him back to prime fitness if we've got a chance of ever seeing him at his best

The obsession with a player who didn't look good enough for us and isn't looking good enough for a bottom Championship side, is hilarious.

He got pulled at half time this weekend.

We've got to remember our better players will probably move on ... who's to say we will be able to keep them?

Luke Freeman has been injured for seven weeks and has undergone an operation to correct a hernia problem. He is about to start training again now.

He started on Saturday and as Robbie said above got withdrawn at half time. Forest fans on twitter want his loan terminated now.

i think theres 4 that could move on egan baldock lundstrum and berge dont see bogle or brewster going anywhere but we certainly need 2 good midfielders to come in

I don't think we'll have a positive NET spend. But I do think there'll be outgoings & incomings as with any Summer window.

After spending a chunk in the Prem and seeing little return on investment, perhaps whoever is in charge next season will be encouraged to look towards loans/free transfers. The team that got us up in the first place cost nowt.

Luke Freeman and Jon Swift would be 2 players capable at that level. So we'd need to buy just the one.
Luke Freeman just got 4out of 10 playing for Forest against a Championship side. Why this desire to get him back ?

We aren’t going to spend big. our revenue will probably be less than 40% of what it was in the Prem. There are probably not going to be fans in again.

Anyone expecting song big money signings is going to be in for a rude awakening!

That said we would I believe have the option for a greater number of loans. Chelsea, Liverpool, city, Man U youngsters could be used to improve the squad at a much smaller cost. And we dont shaft ourselves LT if we get the signings wrong as we have been doing recently

the majority have been wrong for the premier league but not for the championship imo i think they will do well next season especially bogle and brewster

Which we'll be using to pay off the mortgage we took out to pay for the stadium/grounds etc.
How big is the mortgage? We’ve had two seasons in the PL, surely we must have reduced it by now.

My memory of the timeframe is sketchy so hopefully somebody brighter than myself will be along to explain it better.

But if memory serves, Prince won the court case just before our first season in the PL kicked off and then he had a time limit to purchase all the properties off Our Kev. The mortgage was announced sometime in early 2020, I think, and it was to be repaid over two years either from PL income or parachute payments.

There was an article in The Athletic a month or two ago which laid all the info bare, but I don't think we've had the mortgage for long at all.

Blimey, back in my day we were lucky to get a cup of tea.

Well someone had to say it.......didn’t they? 🤦🏻
Given how shit they're doing this season, the coaching staff at Forest must be extremely crap at it.
