Will we send Wednesday down?

I did, some years ago, when CW left the first time and saw the reality and again, when he dug his way back in whilst Hecky was here.
I got beyond irrational hate of S6 too long ago to recall now, as I grew up.
Life's too short and we have half a cities families who love the blue and white side of football too.
And I don't 'do' cult thinking.

A great post on shoutbox earlier ( not mine) " The clubs that establish themselves are either minted or run very professionally (and somewhat minted). We’re none of the above"

I want better for us. We're not getting it any time soon.

I am largely with you on your final points, but seen as though we are a distance away from ever establishing ourselves at the top table, isn't that all the more reason to celebrate the things that we can do well? I.e stuffing that lot as often as possible.

If the shoe were on the other foot, they would be revelling in it, make no mistake.

At the very least, if we avoid defeat at Fratton Park on Saturday and pigs inevitably lose v Millwall then they would be at the magical 40pts mark regardless of whether Leicester win their game or Blackburn win any of their 2 games.

Sadly, I no longer have the energy to celebrate beating them. It all feels a little desperate, like beating a dog when it's down for me. I need more than that tbh, and having to settle for mid table mediocrity whilst we try to show some vestiges of professional, modern day competence off the field just isn't enough.

Always a Blade but there's other things in life to get properly giddy about.

What - like watching a re-run of the 1991 League Cup final?

Hehe. Go on just admit it. You support SWFC. It’s nothing to be ashamed of…or is it?

Ah, bless.
Family, the kids, good food. I could go on.
All better than chucking £££ at a club to get sub standard service and results, surrounded by people who are going because it's their routine, rather than because it's anything like as enjoyable as it was in the past.

Hope that helps.

We're on 39 points. Still just eight points off the playoffs. If we manage to win away at Portsmouth we then have the pigs. Six points from next two games would put us back on the fringes.

That’s fine if that is your experience and opinion. I just don’t understand why you waste your incredibly valuable time on a Blades forum talking about it; it is the last possible place I would consider, as obviously (almost) everyone else on here looks at the Blades and the world in a different way.

Unless, of course, your motives are more to troll, in which case you should really spend more time with family, kids and good food as that is just silly.

I’m sure there are other forums where you can waste your valuable time with more like minded people 🙂

Thanks but I'll stick around.

And that's where we'd stay.

Go on, call me a pug if you like 🤣

You couldn't be further from the truth, although it's clear that having, and being willing to put forward, a different opinion on here gets you labelled a troll or S6 supporter, or abuse.
You’ve still not answered any of my points though on how you came to the conclusion that none of the current predicament is on the fans who cheered when they overspent, laughed when Chansiri dodged FFP and mugged off all the other EFL teams. Then demanded Chansiri left when he was massively subsidising the club year on year and wanted Admin because billionaires would pick them up and return them to where they belong. Yet now reality is biting you feel sorry for them and say Chansiri is mainly to blame? It’s a crazy odd take for a Blade.

The Idea of a forum is to express opinions and true feelings, whether good or bad.
If a forum is a stereotype scenario where everyone has to appease each other with happy clapping in the same direction, what is the fucking point on being on here?
No one loves Sheffield United more than me, but also, no one hates wilder more than me. Does that explain it?

Oh you are back again with your new(ish) username. That’s nice, another one on here.

Updated from here with the yesterday's results

The Let's-Send-Them-Down requirements
  1. As it stands, Wednesday (1990) are 39 points from safety with 45 to play for

  2. They will need to go into the match on the 22nd between 40 and 42 points from safety. Fewer than 40 and they could mathematically stay up after the Derby, more than 42 and they will already be down

  3. The side fourth from bottom therefore needs to end the day on February 21st on a minimum of 33 points plus however many Wednesday gain in their next two and a maximum of 35 plus Wednesday's points from next two matches

  4. West Brom picked up a point yesterday while Leicester somehow tossed away a 3 goal lead to lose 4-3 at home and Oxford were well beaten by Norwich

  5. This means that, assuming Wednesday lose against Millwall, the gap to the teams going into the match on the 22nd will be
    1. Oxford: minimum 35, maximum 38
    2. Leicester: minimum 40*, maximum 43
    3. Blackburn: minimum 40*, maximum 46
    4. Portsmouth: minimum 40, maximum 49
    5. West Brom: minimum 41, maximum 44
  6. Leicester (1 match), West Brom (1), Blackburn (2), Portsmouth (3), Charlton** (3) all need to take as many points from the matches before the Derby as Wednesday get at the weekend, in addition to the below

  7. If more than three of the four sides currently on between 32 and 34 points gain three or more points in their fixtures before Feb 22nd than Wednesday do against Millwall, Wednesday will get relegated before they face us
    1. Portsmouth play United (H), Charlton (A) & Millwall (A)
    2. West Brom play Coventry (H)
    3. Leicester play Stoke (A)
    4. Blackburn play QPR (A) & Preston (H)
  8. *as has been discussed to death elsewhere, Blackburn and Leicester have to play each other on the final day so there is no way that both can remain, as they are currently, 39 points clear of Wednesday

  9. **Charlton only come into the equation if Portsmouth beat them on the 17th and Millwall fail to beat Wednesday, as they're currently 43 points clear

You should try doing it in General Chat. It's like being chased out of town by Cenobites with purple hair, massive spectacles and nose rings.
