The important thing to remember is the back up signings will be rarely in a whole team of back up signings. A like for like replacement in the odd position at a time isn't going to lead to a performance like vs Sunderland (e.g Luke Freeman in for Fleck).

We need to be patient with any new signings and even more so for those like Osborn who haven't been able to play much football. Just look at John Lundstram as a signing: he did well in his first season but also was inconsistent and clearly not as good as Coutts and Fleck. Second season he hardly played and then third season we get promoted to the PL and he's now a starter and arguably our best player this season, certainly our best centre mid so far.

We've had many more signings that take a while to settle and I'm sure in time if they are able to play then the majority will come good .
