Tanganga isn't good enough. He doesn't read the game, he doesn't command the game and for a centre half he isn't big enough, strong enough and simply isn't a presence.

Bindon's fine, just a pity he isn't ours.

Seriki's still a work in progress and while he's decent going forward he scares you to death when he's one on one with a winger running at him.

Burrows is a liability. He's weak, he's late in the tackle because he can't read the game. The out of this world goal line clearance by Bindon came about because of poor defending by Burrows. Their second and third goals came down our left and he was in no man's land for the second and weak as piss for the third.

Two more points down the shitter, should have been an easy win after Cannons strike but as usual, we're looking at piss poor defending costing us a win.

For the last 6 games there’s probably a decent case to bring Hjelde in as a left sided centre half and switch to a 3-4-3. Both Seriki and Burrows are better going forward and would suit wing back roles better, and Bindon would probably improve even more not having to play on the left side of a two.

In hindsight, I think Wilder may regret he didn't put Hjelde on. He's limited, but he's got decent defensive attributes.

I also think the management sees O'Hare's pressing and work rate and thinks that makes a valuable player when it comes to holding on to a lead. But he's not a great marker and not the player you want covering vital areas in your own box late on.

They targeted Burrows from start to finish today. It ultimately led to their 3rd goal, where he could have done anything with the ball, but just chose to led Idah have it.

In fairness to Seriki, they tried the same with his side but he quickly showed Widell that he was quicker and stronger than him.

And fell apart after the usual 70 mins!

100%

I actually think it comes from the midfield. We lose that battle a lot. Remember the first half of last season when some were claiming Cooper for England/best in the league? It was actually because we bossed midfield so much that sides rarely got a shot away. Souttar would then head out the longer balls

But people said it was boring winning 1 nil. Personally these meaningless games coming up are far more boring.

I genuinely find it quite bizarre that we haven't gone back to 3 at the back based on the players we have at our disposal.

Both our CB's have struggled as a pair and been proven time and time again to be susceptible late on in games. They've looked far from solid full stop.

Looking at our current RB and LB there's a really good case that both would be far more suited to the WB role.

There's loads of variations whilst still playing a back 3 so not sure why it's such a big issue. You can set up 352, 3412, 3421 or 343. Gives you plenty of options to be fluid during games as well.

It's almost like CW is absolutely dead set on playing another way as he doesn't want to be tarnished with only being successful during his 1st stint here using a back 3.

Last year we were solid without a back 5.

Who is the 3rd midfielder? Who is the 3rd CB? Second striker? Not sure we can do it.

Not sure why I'm getting into this with you but here goes.

Also during CW's most successful spell I'd probably say he didn't have 2 full on strikers on the pitch that often. The most successful were when he had Sharp and Didzy up top but Didzy went all over the place.

352

Davies (only because Cooper is crocked)

Bindon
Tanganga
Helde

Seriki
Peck
Jairo
O'Hare
Burrows

Bamford
Cannon

3412

Davies (only because Cooper is crocked)

Bindon
Tanganga

Jairo
Burrows

O'Hare/Hamer

Bamford
Cannon

3421

Davies (only because Cooper is crocked)

Bindon
Tanganga
Helde

Seriki
Peck
Jairo
Burrows

O'Hare
Hamer

Bamford

343 (probably my preference)

This is the final build up to Swansea City’s 3rd goal, it’s difficult to be critical of Sereki at times but this is Sunday league stuff. Ji-Sung the Swansea player with his arm up manages to run around the back of Sereki to tap in. Firstly how has he not spotted someone with that much space is incredible and to be so weak as to let him beat you to the ball is criminal. This needs deep analysis, yes Sereki has been one of our better players this season but errors like this are huge, it is clear he is not ready to step up a level.

Burrows does his job and the rest is irrelevant, and if you're going to talk about Sunday league stuff then look at Burrows for both the second and third goals. You can see him on his arse in the picture you posted.

I agree that some of our defenders switch off in the middle, Tanganga does it a lot but Burrows simply can't defend, he's kind of morphing into Max 'All Time' Lowe, and that's not a good thing.

Agreed Burrows shouldn’t be sliding about and I don’t rate him at all, since McCallum got injured we have missed him massively. The thing for me is the clear space, unmarked men and allowing them free rein of the penalty area. The Swansea player is literally waving, and runs behind Seriki and in between Tanganga but it also screams lack of leadership or organisation. A simple look over your shoulder and you see there is a man completely free, even if Seriki tracks him he could fall down in front of him, effectively blocking his run but the likelihood is the referee will give the free kick to us for a trip even though it was forced. Leadership, football knowledge is all lacking

We do it all the time mate. No footballing brain, no leadership and any ball in the box causes complete mayhem. Not sure Wilder sees it this way though, he just keeps saying it's individual errors, which it is to an extent, but the same players have been making those same errors all season. You'd have hoped that, with some coaching by now they'd show even a little improvement.

Agree 100%. On the field, leadership is central, should be clear and on display. If the leader is working amongst headless chickens, he needs to be the one with a clear head, good 'reading' of the game, a confidence that makes him fearless of upsetting others and some charisma. Tanganga is conspicuously devoid of these qualities. I wonder if we have anyone who fits the mould. A manager on the touchline cannot be enough, but ours likes to be enough, and more.

When Bamford came in he was visibly superior to most of our squad coz he wasn't thick as mince.
It was a joy to see him operate by using his loaf - put the others to shame.
Somehow we've amassed a squad with very little intelligence.

And that Tanga , well fair play to the Wall - they screwed us for £5m and bought Coburn from Boro for the same £ - look at his brace today , putting them second.
