Wilder

Some heads melted after the villa performance, I get it. But on almost every conceivable metric we have improved, in a short amount of time which this still is.

Doubling down on it rather than it just being emotion after the Villa game, is daft.

Maybe heads melted last week but we’ve won already under Wilder and the following game we tend to go back to shit.

Great win yesterday but I’m far from convinced by him. I thought our season was turning around when we beat Brentford.

So so you think we should be winning every week? Do you think this squad is better than bottom 3 and what should wilder be doing differently?

I think the squad is better than bottom 2 for sure. I don’t like the way this team blows hot and cold. A good result never seems to lift them much for the following week.

I don’t think Wilder knows which formation he wants to play which led to whatever that was against Villa. I’m surprised he didn’t have a look at another midfielder in January unless he thinks Arblaster can come in.

Some people just don't like Wilder after last time, and were always going to come out of the woodwork when we got a battering. It'll happen again when we inevitably get relegated. We knew that when we appointed him and unless he performs some sort of miracle he'll never get everyone back onside.

To try to claim that we haven't improved though, is just embarrassing. It would be interesting to see if anyone can find any meaningful metric at all where we haven't improved.

We have improved on Hecky but that wasn’t much of a task to achieve.

But conversely they have lifted themselves from. Some pretty damning defeats to go away and win against a team that always seem to tactically have our number
Surely he deserves some. Credit for getting the mentally, physically and tactically prepared for that if nothing else
Maybe the reason they are inconsistent is because they are just not good enough to beat most teams at this level
With the shit show of pre season it's hard to make a case for us being anything other than the worst prepared and cohesive squad in the division from my point of view

Got to be the most ill prepared promoted team in the history of the top tier.
Shocking preseason we sell our best players and replace them with substandard players.
Yesterday we great but let’s not get carried away

yes buggar that, showing signs of optimism , lets up the slagging off to prove the doom merchants points

Berge left united to play for a much more succesful club who have accumulated 13 points,

At least football is exciting again under Wilder.

Under Hecky, whether we were winning, losing or drawing this season and last season, it always felt a bit of a snooze fest...
Whisper it, but the players are starting to look a little better conditioned too...

Fuck knows what Hecky/Tom little did to them over the Summer but it fucked us in the ass before we even get on to the subject of quality of players.

At least know we look like we're playing in the right age group and don't fall off a cliff after 60 mins!

We were totally unfit this season.

Since Wilder has come back we have Points per game of 0.8 which would put us out of the relegation zone if it was for the year.

If we had made the change earlier we would have been in with a shout of staying up for sure.

I was indifferent to Wilder coming back. Thought he made a right mess of things towards the end of his first spell, both in terms of recruitment decisions and his relationship with the club hierarchy.

However….and this is coming from someone who always tries to call things as I see them, removing bias….the performances have been largely better since Wilder and Knill came in. We look more like scoring, we have been more defensively solid in a number of games and we generally just look a bit more competitive.

They got it badly badly wrong in the Villa game and to make things worse a good number of the players were woeful. Liverpool game, Brentford game, West Ham game, Luton away game (and even a good 30+ mins of the reverse fixture) all much better than we saw previously. Have to give him that, it has improved.

Some folk need to get real about the quality of the squad and how much we spent after ripping the heart out of the team before we kicked off.

It's a long term rebuilding job. People need to get realistic. The squad isn't in as good a place as when we last got relegated. Do I think the majority will be realistic? Absolutely not. This would be the case regardless of manager. We need a wheeler dealer if relegation happens. Somebody with a track regard of getting pints from half pint pots...

Tom Little is still here isn't he? Had a long career in the game ,we took him from Preston! They always seem a fit team.
So the dominating factor is Heckie! Injuries seem to follow him around.
Hard to beleave it really he's another who's been in football all his life, could it be just bad luck or is there some underlying factor within his regime !.

Agree - not an easy job over summer with a load walking or being let go and anyone with interest from top divisions likely to be pushing for a move, especially with reduced salaries in effect. I expect the starting XI for the first game next season to be very different to the current crop.

I don't know, but last season we seemed to tire late in games too.

I'm still really angry, that the one area we could control was being fitter, stronger and more intense than other PL teams, but we simply weren't through the Autumn. We were physically mismatched in pretty much every game and thats unacceptable....

I admire your optimism pal but the realism is we will get nowhere with this chairman and management

We've lacked enough fit players. We are now getting to start games with a full team and the players who came in are just settling in

NDIAYE gone to Marseille and he's not settled in at all
BERGE I no hetter off at Burnley

It happens
