Proper football is the wrong phrase to use IMO. What we had in the mid 60 / 70s which our S6 neighbours also had was a identity on how we played football . Supporters and club were in harmony and appreciated football Ie the Everton way .
What we are getting back to and with the clubs you mention , here and now is the place to start with vision , values , and culture . That's what made Norwich , Southampton , Bournemouth successful with a planned progression.
Norwich , Southampton and Bournemouth strengths is to have tactical options and improve on the situation presented by the opposition . The problem we have had with certain managers is we have become one dimensional , whether it's Bassett , Warnock , Blackwell , Clough , Adkins to name a few .
Wilder will change this not with proper football but with adaptable football . Follow the 3no teams you mention and promotion never mind the academy will be the pathway to success.
Bit of Les Reed thinking and hopefully Wilder will take it on board as he did a stint at Southampton.
Sorry if its bored every fucker senseless.
