"I think by the time we go to Stocksbridge(sat July 9th) 2or 3 will have gone out,and 2 or 3 will have come in"
Worrying who will be leaving, and it still leaves us short in numbers if this is the case

You have to ask his.

If premier league Everton, who have money to buy quality, who have a very experienced Dutch international manager are looking to spend a million on the lad then they must see something in his future.

Now I know that a million isn't a lot to them, but is still enough not to throw away.

We have seen very little of the lad, but to me this is typical United, and you would think that we would have learned from the Kyle Walker sale if nothing else.
Should we really just be so easily prepared to sell off our young talent before they have chance to show their worth to the playing squad? I don't think so

Normally I would agree with Grizzly, but think our needs are a lot different this season.
A million quid could go a long way in this league (provided it is put back in to the club for transfers) and we desperately need to get out of it.
Stick a sell on clause in the deal and sell the kid IMO.

its amazing how our fans can only take the negatives out of every single quote

a positive take would be we will have ousted 3 shit players for 3 better ones , but ohh no

werent we a grossly bloated squad last season, paying too much dead wood
now its ooh if we dont get more in were fecked

the club cant win in any scenario as its twisted to be as negative as it can be

Above are all fair points.

But first of all we have to hope he means the transfer listed players....and we have no hint it is them, whereas we have hints from local rags that cobs are signing DCL and Adams.

So sorry BTL....I think it could be fair to assume this.

And on the subject of monies received, there is zero chance that ALL of the money received will be pumped into replacements.
It will be used to fund wages of the upcoming season and therefore reduce losses. The board can even say the whole amount has been reinvested in the first team and still sleep soundly at night!

When are folk going to realise what's happening here. I take no pleasure at all in predicting this either, it is too easy as well as frustrating.

I dont mind who goes as long as who comes in is adequate , and does a job the WHOLE of last seasons squad failed miserably at
Will keeping Adams , be better than letting him go and getting in a Gary Madine for arguments sake , someone whos got a team up
Theres no one comes ahead of the clubs aim , to find 17 players that will get us up, if it means changing everyone , so be it

I am enthused about next season
anyone who thinks we are heading in wrong direction in July are in need of councelling

I assume we did a shrewd move getting Chris , who is focused and dedicated as opposed to that spent empty shell we had last season

This is nothing like the Walker situation. You could see Walker was going to be a star...and we sold another right back too.

We have seen nothing from DCL to show he will be a useful player.

If we keep Adams (and we should) selling DCL is defensible. The Mellis deal was similar - a lot of money for someone who might never pan out and wasn't useful at that time. We have other forwards, who can score goals.

If both DCL and Adams go, that's a stupid thing to do. Keeping DCL and selling Adams would be almost as stupid.

I do take your point though that if anyone can piss the money away on useless replacements, it's us.

We haven't got a squad yet so no players other than any on the transfer list should go. Get players in first.

It feels a bit like selling the crown cutlery again, though. We need to build a squad that is prepared to put all on the line for United, get promoted and stay there. Selling the better youngsters does not allow us to build for the future and, therefore, we will have to buy should/when we get promoted.

We all know how succesful we are at buying, don't we? We also know how much money we have available. No pot and urine spring to mind.

does it really
how many times has this cutlery shone when set out
relate to me the the tales of glory that DCL has given us

and because Adkins buying policy was pants
why is Wilder getting slagged off before the first pre season game
lets for once show a bit resolve and belief we might be doing something right

not run round waving our arms shouting were doomed like nutters

Coutts, Woolford, Wallace(s) out...two CB's and a striker in?

Sounds good to me!

The Mellis deal wasn't our choice. He wasn't under contract, he was an academy player poached by Chelsea. We didn't get a fee, it was compensation set by a tribunal and it was £400k rising to £1m if he made the first team.

That said, I wouldn't lose any sleep over DCL. He might be good one day but we need good now.

I think Coutts, Wallce, and unfortunately one of Adams or DCL will leave, and we will bring 2 in, possibly one for a fee and one on a free.

Fancy Coutts to bring in 200k-300k

Coutts is worthless. He can't run, shoot, or tackle. His passing is average and he's very highly paid in league one terms. He has a shocking injury record.

Anyone who signs him, yet alone pays money for him, wants their head examining.

He has skill, strong on shielding the ball and plays good passes. I think he should play in CM. It wouldnt surprise me if Wilder and Knill sees how good he is in pre season and they may change their minds

I could not disagree more. He's hopeless.

There is no product to his play at all. Deadbat had it right - neat and tidy nothingness.

If they can provide him with courage brains and endeavour yes, but unfortunately he has all the tools but the mental ones

Where is Wilder getting slagged off?
The point I was making is that I'm under the impression we need at least 6 players in addition to what we have..if 3 go out and 3 come in I'm assuming we still need 6
I would love woolford and coutts to be 2 that are leaving,if wilder sorts that then he is a genius..
I'm beginning to see why CW has aged 10 years in the short time he has been here..I wish him well

I agree. Its always a good idea to give a glowing reference to someone you really want to see the back of :D. If he was to discover, pace, commitment and fitness maybe he might be CW's kind of player. If he stays I suspect it will be because we can't find some mug punter to pay him the same wages.
