The post was about what we deserve.
We don’t “deserve” anything.

I agree with don't "deserve" anything. No team does.

All that has been achieved has been earned on the pitch
All those rewards were not as a result of a wealthy benefactor, they were earned by winning matches.

I agree with this as well although your hero was only responsible for one of our periods in the top flight.

If you erase that period of football from 2016 onwards then we’d still be in L1 and looking forward to hosting the massive on their way down.
Odd thing to laud above all else.

Again I agree however that was a decade ago. No one is trying to erase it however there's absolutely no proof whatsoever that we would still be L1 if Wilder hadn't come in at that point. We could have dropped on another manager who could have done even better than Wilder long term and still be having success. Unlikely but you can't say for sure.

It’s not been great this season. An understatement. That’s got a hell of a lot to do with the decisions made last summer. But sure, ignore that for now. If we’d have carried on with SeLLLLLLes we’d be doing a Leicester. Who’s to say someone else would have been able to arrest the slide?

And this is where you cement yourself as his biggest cheerleader. There are far too many "Wilder Out" type posts admittedly and it gets tiresome however you jump on every single one with your excuses for him. The fact is when this season ends he will have been in charge for 40 of the 46 games. He's had more than enough time to sort out the fitness issues but hasn't. He was backed in the JTW after we had a decent spell in November/December and, yet again, we had a pretty horrendous, expensive window that somehow made us worse. It's not the 1st time under his reign.

I've said on other threads that I think with where we find ourselves now and the likely financial constraints that he is probably the best man for at least having the summer and starting next season but I really don't hold out much hope based on recent experience of him and think he is now a busted flush.

I genuinely hope I'm wrong and he can somehow go back to how he was circa 2016-2019 but I'd be amazed if he does as he seems to be living in the past and incapable of seeing his own short comings. Proven by the fact that I'm yet to see a single example of him admitting fault for the absolute dog shit we're serving up right now.

Agree. Let's see :)

Everyone today believes in instant results any club that has stuck with a manger (like we should have done last season) has seen results improve. Moving on key players like Anel, Souza and Kiefer and expecting things to click with second rate replacements is sadly delusional. Chris has already said 6 loanees are going back and he made it clear that he wants a rebuild and clear out - I think we can all agree on that!

It is interesting reading all the posts saying we need a new manager but no one is saying who that new manager should be. As I recall the last time we sacked CW the new man did not cut the mustard . Be careful what you wish for. UTB
Southampton sacked Will Still at the beginning of November and ain't looked back ☺️

My main worry for next season, is we go from the fifth youngest to the oldest side in the championship. Frightened we could lose Hamer, Peck, Seriki and Brookes.

Let’s see how it pans out shall we?

WiLDLDLDer should be credited with getting us out of danger this season, but if we want to move forward as a club I really think either he needs to change how he operates - that is to say he needs to embrace not being in control of everything and accept a DOF or someone to handle transfers, or we are heading for more of the same next season.

Hecky got us promoted? More than wilder was capable of last season with one of the best squads in the division.

Just watching Southampton murder Wrexham. At one point we were close to saints only 2 or 3 behind i think

So it makes me realise just how badly wilder screwed up January window. Very.
100% this.

Post Selles, pre-JTW was Wilders chance to sort it out, steady the ship and get us clear of the relegation zone.

JTW was the chance to reinforce and kick on.

He stuffed up the JTW royally.

What was the point of Kalvin Phillips ? How much has he cost for a 45 minute cameo?

We will end up where we were aiming for at the end of December, about 3 places above the drop.

He's had 41 games to address it. Staying up was the bare minimum. He's marginally exceeded this.

His constant carping about the players not being his is complete BS - most of them are HIS players.

It's the lack of fitness and the predictable changes that get my goat too. He's not addressed this.

Southampton have changed manager and salvaged their season big time.

Wilder has the opportunity to do the same and he's blown it.

Again.

Clement has done something similar at Norwich.
Came in with them 23rd and a long injury list and accusations of not being fit enough. They've romped up the league and if they maKe the play offs, look like the form team ....

As much as Wilder can point fingers, he really has had long enough to get the players fit, organised and embed a style of play that can win games in the Championship.

Actually they’ve not looked back after beating us 1-0.

We went to their place when they were on an awful run, their fans were calling for their manager to be sacked and couldn’t see any way they were going to beat us.

We picked a much changed team, played wank, lost 1-0 and they’ve not looked back since then.

We literally chucked 3 points away against them.

Wilders only card left is to bang on about 'character' as if that's going to fix everything. His teams character blew auto's last season, bottled the big games in that season, bottled the PO final and now, well, we all see the result of months of Wilder leading the team again.

I'm not having it. He's yesterdays man, trying to hang on to the best job he'll ever have, for him.

We deserve better, smarter, more intelligent leadership. He's tiresome now. Like Jimmy White was last night. Lot's of positive talk for him, but ultimately failing his supporters.
Wilder is tiresome ,fuck me pot and kettle..

Wilder does what he always does, buys/loans four to get one good un.It works lower down but not up the leagues, unless your Chelsea etc.
We've been crap since we stopped playing 4-4-2 imho.
Next season is going to be a tough one.

It's not me who's driving the apathy in the ground on a match day, or buying crap strikers, or speaking in 70's tropes in a modern football world.

Morning.
The apathy in the ground is a really fair point. Against Swansea, many of us discussed all sorts of non-match-related issues, as the match was so tedious despite the six goals! Very little atmosphere, though, of course, we are now in holiday mode.

I was there that night ,shit game, they should have been 3 up at half time, Bamford missed a last minute sitter, only cance we had all game! Mr tinker man fckd up again with selection & tactics!

Wilder DID a good job, but that was obviously in the past. His ability to create a decent squad, style of play and bring youngsters through whilst generating funds is something he used to do but unfortunately has not happened recently and recent experience indicates that he has no idea how to develop the club for the future .
We need a forward thinking plan to replace the badge thumping, peroni drinking culture which worked in the past but is now outdated.

He must at the very least bring in an assistant to work with him with the intention of handing over to him, not necessarily a BLADE but a younger coach with new ideas. The club also needs a director of football, we have not had anyone like that since Derek Dooley.

Nowt to do with Jairo being injured plus the two sendings off and McCallum out for the rest of the season at Charlton the weekend prior ?
We were shite but, strewth 🤦‍♂️

Famously Sheffield United FC are the only club that has injured or suspended players. What on earth is Wilder supposed to do when he only has 29 other players to pick from.

The quote was
“Mr tinker man fckd up again with selection & tactics!“
We may have a number of other players but most of that lot is utter shite or injured or coming back from long term injury. That kind of limits the options.
