Four names…..and who would be your choice as the next manager? Careful now….
I can't work out if you're being sarcastic or not?Skubala at Lincoln is doing an incredible job and playing better football than we do. Imagine, picking up a manager from a lower league who's taken an unfancied team to the very verge of promotion, with inventive, direct, skilfull styles that the fans are loving.
Just imagine that were possible.
Exactly like he did in 2016. The point is that there are others, to answer the question I replied to.I can't work out if you're being sarcastic or not?
You mean like Wilder did with us in 2016/17?
On the OP, can everyone just accept that Wilder is going NOWHERE for the foreseeable. He was sacked last summer, rather unfairly in my opinion, the board realised their mistake and he agreed to come back, which is an unprecedented sequence of events. They are not going to dispense of his services any time soon. He will be managing us next season, no question, so why don't we all settle down, get used to it and support the team.
This is me exactly. I'm not too fussed about handing over another £550+ for another mediocre season. I know that's not what it's all about as a fan and loyality and all that, but it is frustrating to watch us capitulate game after game. Yesterday's result was very encouraging considering that rediculous red card, but the play offs are now gone imo. Then I will have to make a decision about renewing my season ticket for next season.
I am struggling to motivate myself to go to the remaining games and after last Saturday's bore feast the thought of 23 games like that next season is not exactly making me in a rush to part with my money.
I went through the same emotions when Wilder left the first time but it's turned out to be a great shout. This is me exactly. I will no doubt renew as I enjoy the day out with the lad and to be honest, I don't want to lose our seats which we would struggle to match later on if we did let them go now.
For me, Wilder has one more season to get us up or the board will move him on - then what happens
Fckin football eh?
YeahYou a shrink![]()
STRONG SMELL OF S6 PORK.Going to put Mark Robins into the hat. Think with these players he will take us to the prem! Gets the best out of hamer and O'hare!
and likewise 50 points from all his 33 games ratio would see us on 69 points which was enough for 5th last season39 points from last 22 matches. Leave it at that. Would be 5th in table.
But you're not allowed to be selective on the number of games........ ohand likewise 50 points from all his 33 games ratio would see us on 69 points which was enough for 5th last season
also having the first cup run we've had since Nigel Clough's tenure.
Give over.. what you been sniffing poppers….Going to put Mark Robins into the hat. Think with these players he will take us to the prem! Gets the best out of hamer and O'hare!
Clough wasn’t back properly by McCabe? What sort of revisionist history is this?Let's bring Clough back then, after all he wasn't backed properly by McCabe.
Xisco Munoz is also a possibility with a win percentage of 82% with his current club.
What could possibly go wrong apart from a relegation if we had kept Selles- 'needed more time'
Come on, he only had 42 players to pick from on a season, what do you expect him to do with such a limited squad?Clough wasn’t back properly by McCabe? What sort of revisionist history is this?
Monty it is then!Four names
Blessin, still at St Pauli. A tough manager of a gritty German team, in an industrial city that he's done well with, kept them in Bundesliga playing energetic football. The team are incredibly close (connected) to a passionate fan base and he can fetch Jackson Irvine with him too as his captain. I'm sure some massive flags, drums and the occasional pyrotechnics could be thrown in for good measure.
Domenico Tedesco, at Feberbahce. Ex Schalke boss and got them 2nd in Bundesliga.
Dave Challinor at Stockport. I was told (third hand, not ITK!) he was under consideration for our job but signed a contract there instead of here. He can bring Ollie Norwood too although, having seen him play recently, there may be issues with us having to reduce the floodlight luminescence to prevent glare from his teeth, or only play him in day time games. A simple contractual issue.

Other clubs find and poach (steal) bosses all the time. Well, most do.
A team from THE home of football with recent PL experience should have serious pulling power for a long term project.
Or, we just copy Bodo Glimt. Now that's an exciting side ripping the CL a new one.
Good point yesterday, but the woodwork saved us, I'm told from one who went.
I sometimes think this, and then I sometimes think we should give him one last throw of the dice.Glad wilder came back, saved us and forever grateful
Mousinho
O’Neill
Unknown for Europe - Boro & Swansea style
Not against wilder, just think he’s hit his ceiling and it’s time for a change
Agree, I didn't want Wilder back tbh, and the football is poor atm, but at this moment in time the club should come out and say that unless we are unimaginably relegated Wilder will be here next year, everyone knows then what's happening, if by Christmas we aren't in the top half he should then be sacked, take all his coaching staff with him and that's the end of this bladey blade stuff for ever. The man is a legend for what he's done, but he's under pressure now because he knows it's his last chance of a decent job, I hope his health stands up and then he can resume his role as a supporter on the kop and enjoy retirement, if we do well then it benefits us all utbFootball has moved on since our 9th place finish, lots and very quickly and Wilder hasn’t really changed.
There’s still a lot of the same frustrations with him as there was last season which ultimately led to the club looking to replace him last season and why a good percentage of the fan base are still wanting a change.
It was a disaster and ultimately he was the right man to come back in and steady the ship. Selles was wank, the transfer window was even worse. It left us with a clueless manager and a relatively poor and unbalanced squad. He has steadied that ship and we should be greatful for that but it doesn’t give him a totally free pass. There’s been some baffling decisions made since he came back and also some fucking rank performances - those are on him.
Most of the teams in the division move the ball more fluidly and forwards more progressively that we do and it’s really frustrating at times.
Ultimately if we ever want to push on to the next level it needs someone other than wilder long term. We’ve got Rookie owners that don’t really know what they’re doing. A squad where half the players aren’t really good enough and in need of another big overhaul. The loss of parachute payments and a costs restructure required. There’s probably too much in need of change in one go to look at sacking wilder at the same time. They perhaps ought to see how we get on until Christmas.
No, if he goes it's got to be a clean start or we'll never move onI wonder if there’d be any mileage in shifting CW upstairs to DoF and bringing in a younger manager…dunno just speculating really![]()
This wouldn’t work. The DoF would be responsible for a complete overhaul of scouting, recruitment, conditioning and coaching. Wilder’s key strength is motivation which isn’t a skill particularly needed in the DoF role, which is far more strategic.I wonder if there’d be any mileage in shifting CW upstairs to DoF and bringing in a younger manager…dunno just speculating really![]()
